Translated: if a democrat were president, we wouldn’t care about the genocide, suppression of speech on university campuses, racist police brutality, and deportations, and we’d be having brunch while those things are happening, just like we did during the Biden regime

Liberals are racists. The signs have been there all along, but it took me until very recently to notice it. Until November 2023 for me.

Edit: the sidebar made me feel safe to share my thoughts and opinions. I didn’t expect the Liberal Inquisition. I had liberals explain to me why the genocide in Gaza was necessary and if those were a fringe then there is also a video of Bill Clinton saying the same.

Saying ‘liberals are racists’ because of a few examples is like saying ‘teachers are abusive’ because a couple of bad ones made headlines. It’s not just a stretch. It’s a serious mischaracterization of the vast majority.

The overwhelming majority of liberals actively oppose racism and work toward inclusion, even if their approaches or language might differ. Just like with any group, there are going to be outliers, contradictions, and some people who get it wrong. But that’s not the same as the group being racist.

We should absolutely call out racism wherever it exists, but we should also be honest enough not to assign guilt to an entire, diverse set of people based on a biased sample or a personal turning point. That’s not truth-seeking. That’s scapegoating."

Are all liberals racists? Consciously, I would say no. But liberals do have a ton of implicit biases and policies that are straight up racist. Whether it’s writing laws that disproportionately affect black people and calling them super predators (the Clintons), or deciding which countries get aid based seemingly upon skin color, liberals have a long history of policy that is very often racist, sometimes overtly so.

How is this administration better? Fucking purity tests i swear, are the reason we are being drawn more and more into fascism. You can be against genocide and vote for the lesser of two evils. Its not black and white like you want to make it put to be. A lot of people were very angry (myself included) with the Biden administration’s response to the Gaza protests, and dissent crackdown.

The point they were making was that this woman should still have been in the streets protesting genocide regardless of the sitting president. They are calling the complicity of this womans desire for inaction disgusting and it should be viewed that way. Getting your genocidal fuck in office does not absolve you of responsibility, if anything you should demand more from them. Going back to brunch means being comfortable with the crimes of your empire just because you aren’t threatened by them at that moment.

        from https://citationsneeded.medium.com/news-brief-us-media-top-dems-assist-trump-and-israels-unprovoked-attack-on-iran-d391810dc29b

And what the 2024 nominee, Kamala Harris, who, you know, the presumptive or leading nominee for 2028, she’s she signaled she’s going to run again. One would be curious what she would say about this. She has not commented. She lost the election about seven months ago. Has not commented at all on Gaza, except twice to hand-wring about Israeli hostages. She’s not opposed anything Trump has done with respect to the genocide in Gaza, not publicly at least. She hasn’t publicly condemned anything that Trump has done with respect to Iran. And the bombing happened last night. Since then, she hasn’t issued a statement. She hasn’t condemned it. She hasn’t opposed it. Now, a lot of people say, Oh, well, Harris would have been better than Trump. Again, very possible, but the one person in the world who could solve this mystery, which is Kamala Harris herself, has yet to criticize Trump on the subject of Israel at all.

So you do know you have very few choices. How astute of you! Did you figure that out all on your own?

This is what you call a democracy? No anti-genocide choice, so just move on and normalize atrocities until the fascists kill you too. I’m never gonna look at the democrats as being separate from the Republicans again, because theyre not. They meet halfway with genocide when there should be none!

But I will spare the time to point out there have been many times in the past several decades when democrats had the option to spurn their sponsors in the military industrial complex and not warmonger, but not a single one of those times did they choose the humane option and just not.

Anyone who thinks that politicians that are bought and paid for by the corporate war machine are just going to stop murdering kids is either incredibly naive, or an idiot. I’ll let you decide which of the two you are.

I agree. So why is the argument from your side of the table just apathy? Doing nothing isn’t going to solve anything, and the only options available ATM are nothing but limiting how much damage is done or accelerating/increasing the damage. Do you have any actionable solutions to get a secret third option, besides “hurr durr, I am not voting because both choices are bad?” Because not understanding the concept of a “lesser evil” when no other choice is available is far more naive.

Less genocide? What does that even mean?! You can’t systematically murder a people to a greater or lesser degree. There is no “good” way to support a genocide. Just don’t support genocide. It’s actually fairly easy to do.

It’s not allowing fascism to take over.

So the people who happily funded and supported a fascist ethnostate committing a genocide and who continue to do so are going to stop fascism? Right, got it. That makes perfect sense.

        THEY DID SOMETHING. FUCKING ANYTHING.

Trump’s a shitstain of a human, but so is every other of your politicians. Everybody knows they’re liars, yet you pick favorites and sides. There was absolutely no chance Biden/Harris would back down, and, with the democrats in charge, you’d go back to living as though politics is a game for you and not recognize for others it’s life and death.

GOD FUCKING DAMNIT! American liberals are the stupidest, most inbred Neanderthals I’ve ever had the displeasure of knowing. You are more harmful to resistance than any individual Republican, and I’m well aware that after voting you’d just sit back and not care about children being burnt alive.

Fuck your “elections”. A 2 party system was never a democracy. You’ve never been free. EVERYBODY else knows that the West, and most of all America, are fucking lying about freedom and democracy every time they open their shit eating mouths.

I understand the anger. I really do. But you need to relax. Because anger and hatred isn’t going to get us anywhere.

We need to try and understand each other better. We need solidarity, and that will only come from attempting to, in good faith, understand each other and where we come from.

We all have much more in common than you’d think, but speaking like this is just going to close the conversation off instead of opening it up.

You expect people to automatically have the correct opinions like we’re all born ultra-leftist and act as though any belief that deviates indicates a flaw in their cognitive ability or a personality defect. You think a single mother working three jobs just needs to be scolded about praxis by some college-aged brat who just discovered Kropotkin last week? Do you think the black family whose about to lose their apartment from gentrification deserves it because they didn’t have a Marxist reading group every Friday?

It’s a shitty attitude to have and speaks volumes about your feelings of superiority. Try being more charitable instead of getting salty about people being imperfect.

I mean, you don’t need to read theory to hold the opinion that killing innocent people is wrong. What you’re describing isn’t a lack of praxis, but of morals. The rest of your comment is just nonsense. Nobody is losing their apartment. People are dying though, and you’re not doing anything about it.
