All the people I still know in LA laugh and laugh when they hear that “Los Angeles is burning.” I made a couple of maps to show just how tiny and localized the protests are. GOPers are working really hard to make an excuse for declaring martial law. People should be very wary of that.

I drove by the protests after grabbing some Thai food downtown to take home, was not really a big deal. I’m sure rush hour over there is a nightmare ATM but that’s just LA life
reminder that there are real people on this site who will call you a doomer if you don’t see promise in waiting 4 years for people to occupy 2 blocks of a city where you don’t live being a plausible pathway to stopping fascism and the climate apocalypse. they’ll actually say it cowardly to emigrate.

The fact that it looks like the cops have drawn their battle line at a catholic church and a Buffalo Wild Wings is such a perfect little vignette of America.
