The democrat party cannot be reformed. It must be destroyed. As soon as libs realize the middle class isn’t even being served by these antidemocratic ghouls, maybe we can have a real third party. I don’t care if it’s greens DSA or PSL (of course, PSL all the way) but as it stands the Dems are a death knell to progress

Forgive me, because I don’t disagree with the goal. But it seems naive.

The democrat party cannot be reformed. It must be destroyed

If we create a new party in the exact same electoral system why should we be any more optimistic of it working out this time?

As soon as libs realize the middle class isn’t even being served by these antidemocratic ghouls, maybe we can have a real third party.

Right, and as soon as the capitalists realize this third party is gaining traction over the dems they’ll stop trying to buy and lobby democrats and instead try to buy, coopt, and float their own candidates in this new party while pumping huge amounts of money for their preferred candidates over ours.

Are the democrats the root problems, or are the democrats/Republicans both a result of the means in which we discuss politics being monopolized and owned by huge capital?

Very good points here. And I agree, within electoral politics there is limited room for change. The system needs to be dismantled. Something something the state and revolution…

This kinda happened to me at a workplace.

I tried to negotiate my salary when I began and they said they don’t negotiate salaries because people of color and women are disproportionately less likely to negotiate than White men who benefit from the practice. And I’m like, but… I’m a person of color?? They wouldn’t hear any of it. One of the worst jobs I’ve ever had.

They won’t negotiate your salary for your own good. That’s some 1984 doublespeak for you right there.

That’s exactly the proper response. If you can’t negotiate individually, because it’s “bad for the individuals,” then negotiate collectively - “for the good of the company.”

It’s corpo socialism using woke talking points as a cudgel.

Edit: glad Lemmy had users that are fans of public funds bailing out large corporations. But I want you all that downvoted me(cause you don’t have a grasp of the English language!) to know I truly don’t care what you think. If a for profit corporation requires public (read “social”) funds, then they don’t need to exist. 🖕 To all you idiots.

The first time I heard that years ago, I was astonished. Who would accept such a thing?

“Buying a car is easy at RipOff Motors! You just pay the sticker price, no haggling! Isn’t that GREAT!”

I’m showing up on the 28th of the month with the dealer cost in mind, and a willingness to pay 10% above that. If you don’t want to haggle, I’ll just go to one of the 20 other dealerships within a 30 minute drive.

I successfully haggled with a “no haggle” dealership. I made an offer, they declined, they called me a week later to see if I was still interested, I declined, 15 min later they lower the price on their site to about the number I wanted and I called them back.

That’s why I always buy at the end of the month, when either the sales rep and/or the dealership are trying to hit their quota for the month, and are far more willing to cut a good deal.

Pretty hard to ignore the fact that fascists get strongly worded letters but people who say dems should do more than write angry letters get immediatly neutralized.

If David Hogg is too far to the left for the democrats then there really is no hope for the party, not even the remote possibility of reform

They can’t stand for anything, not even the watered down lib shit like gun control

Republicans should be thanking their lucky stars the only people who disagree with them are the Republican Party’s moderate wing. I never want to hear chuds even whine about anything, not even non-political stuff. They are the most spoiled, undeservedly lucky demographic in human history.

And somehow even democrats are commandist ultras in amerikkka

It’s all theater, at the end of the day both d’s and r’s are in agreement over everything.

“Let me be unequivocal, no DNC officer should ever attempt to influence the outcome of a primary election,” – Some deepstate ooze who insisted on running Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden, popular opinion be dammed
