Just give every nomination to the most senior candidate who isn’t vetoed by someone more senior. And then before the general elections, the most senior members of both parties can meet and pick which voters they want.

Why even bother with primaries? Just give every nomination to the most senior candidate who isn’t vetoed by someone more senior. And then before the general elections, the most senior members of both parties can meet and pick which voters they want.
