The last few days had been warm, full of that early spring energy where everything feels like it’s waking up.

But this morning was different. The air was colder than usual, and there was that quiet threat of snow just hanging in the air.

Still, I pulled on my jacket and headed out for my morning walk. The cold hit my face and snapped me into the moment. Still a great peaceful walk.

I always come back from those walks feeling lighter, more open to ideas. Problems seem smaller. Worries shrink.

I’ve been doing a lot of citizen science projects with my microscope late, and at least today I won’t feel like I’m missing nice weather!

Today I thought of a saying, and it felt true in my bones: “Positivity grows where your feet take you, not where you wish you were.”

It’s simple, but it reminded me that forward motion, even on the rough days, makes all the difference.
