Donald J. MusktoToo Afraid To Ask@lemmy.ml•Why will some users downvote everything OP posts, even if it's innocent?English11·1 day agoI know for me at least, it seems to be one person who made a bot to downvote brigade me, somewhat bragged about it, then got instance banned for it. So now he just creates alts every day.
It’s all a total waste of his time too. It’s way easier and quicker for me to simply ban him, than it is for him to set up all these new accounts.
Some people are really strange when it comes to obsessive behaviour.
Donald J. MusktoToo Afraid To Ask@lemmy.ml•Why will some users downvote everything OP posts, even if it's innocent?English21·1 day agoYep. Happens to me. Some don’t like my politics, so even my non-political posts get downvoted. I have some who actually follow me around just to downpost everything I do. One guy made a script for downvoting bots to attack me, but he got caught doing that by other mods/admin and he got banned for it.
Once it became easy to see who the downvoters are, I was able to get it sorted pretty quick. Some even started an alt the day I banned them for downvoting, and started the downvote stalking right up. Banned them too.
I don’t mind someone downvoting something, but to just click on a user profile and downvote every single thing without even reading it is annoying and is ban-worthy in my opinion.

It’s was super helpful when Covid hit and I was prepared–never had to leave my house during that time. And we also had a blizzard that knocked everything out for a few days. So to me, it’s common sense to have a lot of this stuff anyway.
I’ve been upping my solar power situation. And for most of this summer I have been using a solar oven, which has been awesome!
True, but my 9mm would be the main personal protection gun
that what I was thinking, revolver can pretty much be used forever, and .22 ammo is way cheap and easy to stock up on. Last time I went to gunshop here in my city, the guys obviously were trying to talk me into 9mm, and bigger guns. They def weren’t taking me seriously for wanting a .22 pistol. But I already have a 9mm, now I want a .22 pistol. lol So I’ll probably order one online, have it delivered to shop then pic up.
People seem to downplay them, but even back in the day, a lot of mob kills were done with .22 pistols. It can still get the job done when needed. I don’t plan on killing anyone obviously, but the inexpensive ammo and reliablity of a good revolver appeals to me

Ok, thanks, I will. Not really sure how that helps the conversation regarding pistol choices though.
I never thought of packing my own shells. Ok, I may have to go down that rabbit hole now…

States being allowed to govern themselves should be the goal in everything like this. My libertarian parts always rankle up when I see people trying to prevent it.
Donald J. MuskOPto Conservative2•Republicans Pile On as Zohran Mamdani Becomes Democrats' New Lightning RodEnglish13·6 days agoIt’s from Newsweek, and I did notice that they have changed the title of the article to be less clickbait-y just now as well. Well, not sure if less clickbait or more, but their new title of article is: “Republicans Pile On as Zohran Mamdani Becomes Democrats’ New Lightning Rod” I updated to match the title in link.
But for sure, if you don’t think it fits the theme of your comm, I can respect you removing it. I did think it was an interesting take on the situation though, because I didn’t realize that some Dems were upset about Zohran. I think it’s more of they probably think since he’s kind of new-dem, that it takes away from their more established dems that they want to stay in power. Iv’e seen nothing to indicate it’s about race. I actually like the guy, even tho it’s not my style of politics. I lean more libertarian.

Donald J. Muskto Conservatives@hilariouschaos.com•My experience as the original mod of this community. - lemm.eeEnglish21·7 days agoWow, I just read all of the stuff in those links. This stood out: @bdonvr, admin of The Lemmy Club has, in my opinion, responded in good faith to the concerns raised in this post, and so I have withdrawn my proposal for defederation. In summary: They will no longer be allowing conservative/right wing communities on their instance
So much for Lemmy being all about diversity. lol
I wouldn’t be surprised at all if this eventually happens to my communities, but so far the admin has been amazing and truly believes in diversity. But I’m sure that people will keep hammering on him.
Saidit is a little too political. I’d prefer Lemmy not to be so political. Which is to my point, because some people on Lemmy seem to make their whole lives about politics and will stalk people who have different political beliefs. It’s really weird. I’m on Lemmy under other names, and I don’t post any politics stuff under those names. Lemmy is much more enjoyable without all the “Burn him because he likes Trump!!!” nonsense.
But there are some “neuro-divergent” people that try to throw in “Cheeto-Man” in every comment they see. Sigh…
