ICE Trump’s Gestapo illegally kidnaps US citizens and other humans for the purpose of sending them to a death camp in El Salvidor, which, regardless of whether or not they are a criminal or even whether or not they get due process is unconstitutional under the 8th amendment, not that Hitler Trump cares about the law.

I don’t know if you saw those pictures of CECOT with the pile of human bodies, but if you haven’t, don’t look it up unless you don’t want to sleep.

I truly don’t think democracy has very long in this country. Either the people rise up or die under oppression.

      Our systems have failed

Eroding democracy isn’t an on off switch per se. He’s been actively dismantling systems since day one. It is hard to say exactly when all is lost and there’s no coming back. That could have been last week or it could be next month. I suppose that will be up to historians.

I think frogs in a pot slowly being heated to a boil is a better analogy. We were pretty fucked as soon as we went in the pot. If there’s any sense we can maybe jump out, but eventually we’ll die if we don’t act

“Don’t fight back, they’ll kill you” do you realize how insane that sounds when they’re deporting people to a death camp in another country also ruled by a dictator and you’ve been told repeatedly no one leaves that death camp. Ever.

I will happily catch bullets taking some ICE thugs with me before I lie down and accept death in a concentration camp.

I will also happily catch bullets taking some ICE thugs with me to protect someone nearby from being taken.

If I pull a gun when ICE thugs roll up on me, I am ABSOLUTELY not going to the gulag.

I will be dead, having been shot 197 times by 3 people who shot 400 rounds each.

But if I’m lucky, quick, and have drilled enough with my firearm, I’ll have taken at least one of them with me.

You can beat the charge and even win money but you can’t beat the car ride and jail cell visit.

And until we start demanding a higher class of police officer, bullies too lazy for the military are what we will get. Not that I’d want better police officers in this dystopian police system.

So what? Do it anyway. PUNISH THEM during that lag between when the offense is detected and when Trump finds out and is able to act (if he chooses to act, which isn’t actually a guarantee). Even if they only sit in a holding cell for a matter of days or even hours, at least the experience of being strip-searched, fingerprinted, having their mugshot taken, and forced to wear an orange jumpsuit would be SOMETHING!

You can get a conviction expunged from your record but the record that you were arrested never goes away. Even if you aren’t convicted, try getting into an apartment in a decent area with an arrest for kidnapping on your record.

Lopez Gomez, 21, was born in Georgia. According to court records, he has been assigned a judge as well as a public defender. He appears to have been arrested and charged under an “anti-immigration” law passed in Florida two months ago, despite the fact that the law is currently under a temporary restraining order and isn’t supposed to be enforced.

Afaik he was being detained by the state, initially under suspicion of breaking the law but then later they continued to hold him just because ICE asked them to.

Reporting on this story hasn’t been very good, it’s been difficult to follow the more nuanced details of what’s going on. But the bottom line is very clear: he was detained illegally, and the fascists wanted to deport him anyway.

Makes you wonder how many US citizens have already been “Administratively errored” to El Salvador.

    New rules.

Are you brown? Do you primarily speak a language other than English? Do you have a common but ethnic name like Gomez? Are you a Chicago Bulls fan? Do you have any kind of marking or birthmark on you that someone could claim is a secret gang tattoo? Do you have a name similar to or even live near anybody who fits any of the above criteria?

If the answer to one or more of those questions is “yes”, I wouldn’t be leaving the house. You can literally find yourself on a plane destined for El Salvador literally before your family even realizes you haven’t made it home from work yet, because the new rules are that as long as they can stick you on that plane and get that plane in the air before a judge can say something, they get to get away with it and you have no recourse. Good luck ever speaking to anyone who even speaks English ever again, let alone family.

What’s scary is that that is not hyperbole.

Leaving his citizenship aside for a moment, he was accused of breaking a state immigration law. The law has been halted by court order and is currently not enforceable. The constitution makes immigration a federal matter. Also if it’s a state law, why is he being held by ICE, a federal agency?

    Hello USA citizen.

Because you are new to dealing with your government, and because some here who been seeing how USA government and its propaganda machine work know better…

I would like to draw your attention to the fact all these news coming as “ICE did this and that” is basically aim to draw the attention away from the real people who did this.

So next time you see “ICE” remember that this Trump and his friend. If you can dig deep who is running ICE that will also work.

putting a name of a person instead of company or group work better in stopping them. See Luigi incident for inspiration…

I said the same thing myself about 2 days ago.

We’ve still got 13 days to go. US citizens are being detained, and white people are already being served with deportation orders despite being US citizens. I stand by my prediction: A US citizen will end up in El Salvador by the end of the month, and it could even be a white person.

This is no longer about immigration. The brown people that Trump hates so much aren’t the target any more. They’re just another pawn in the game. Trump is making his authoritarian power grab and this is the line in the sand. The new message isn’t “Get rid of the brown people.” It’s now “Get rid of anyone I don’t like.”, and he will have no problems making an example out of a white person if it thinks it will further erode resistance.

It’s the end of Trump’s “First 100 Days.” He’s floated invoking the Insurrection Act and declaring martial law at that time, although I’m also seeing that he’s suggested doing that as soon as the 20th.

It appears to be a mound of bodies surrounded by blood. This a satellite image of the CECOT prison in El Salvador where Trump is unconstitutionally sending people without due process. According to 60 minutes 75% of the 200 people sent here have no criminal record. Trump told the El Salvadorian president to build more prisons because he’s sending “homegrown” Americans next

Yeah my understanding is tattoos in el salvador is automatic jail. American is well on its way to that.

A Venezuelan soccer player who was in the U.S. awaiting a ruling on his asylum claim was deported to El Salvador under suspicion of being a member of a dangerous gang in what his attorney said was a misinterpretation of a tattoo the tattoo – a crown sitting atop a soccer ball with a rosary and the word “Dios,” which means God in Spanish – was designed to look like the logo for Reyes Barrios’ favorite soccer team,

CECOT in El Salvador, where they are sending people accused of being in “gangs” - for example, the man from Maryland that the Supreme Court has ordered the administration to return.

That is a Google earth view of the site, showing what is very likely a large blood stain, as CECOT does not release prisoners.
