I mean personally I always knew Trump was a complete buffoon. I’m just surprised nobody’s stopping him from doing the dumbest thing at every possible opportunity.

I have zero doubt of both of those things.

I think he saw tariffs as something that would provide him with leverage, and that’s it. I don’t think he’s ever had a clear goal or an end game, and I’m pretty sure he’s never even been entirely clear on just what tariffs are or how they work. He just saw a weapon to hold over other countries’ heads in order to swing some kind of deal, and grabbed ahold for that reason alone.

And while he prides himself on his supposed deal-making prowess, never forget that this is a man who couldn’t even keep a casino running in the black.

And broadly - he’s really rather obviously insane. It’s debatable how much of his brazen disconnect from consensual reality is delusion and how much is lies, but it works out to insanity either way.

I feel that all the things that make Trump are already in cahoots to make him an insane pudding-brained asshole. Make him rich on top of that, and later make him the president, and you’ve just poured 2 extremely volatile accelerants on a raging inferno of unearned confidence and strident stupidity.

The man is the most indulged asshole we could possibly create.

That pretty well sums it up.

I think the combination of losing the 2020 election, being hit with a slew of unflattering analyses and criminal convictions, then winning the 2024 election finally completely broke his brain, but it’s a path he started down probably from pretty much his first day of conscious life.

He’s getting more attention from this than anything he’s ever done. He’ll keep cancelling and uncancelling tariffs until the news doesn’t cover it.

Unless there were some slimy shit scheme behind which it wouldn’t surprise me, that dude bankrupted multiple casinos from what I remembered. I don’t really know what the oligarch elites were expecting.

The only way these fools could possibly be confused by this is that they desperately want to be him. They want to have the money and audacity to cover everything they own in gold. They are so envious of Trump’s lack of concern for others’ opinions. They don’t see it as a racist, sexist, senile old man mumbling nonsense, they see exactly what they want to be and forget the obvious reasons Trump is the way he is. To hell with his words, they only care about the tone and how badly they want to talk like that to other people.

Now to be fair: I cannot think any less of these worms and their very existence is offensive to me. That being said, I am 100% correct.

He was so proud of himself too. It must be so weird to be a hog and to worship Trump. Whatever Trump says or does - they have to treat it as though Trump is some kind of perfect man. Trump says “I took a very simple test to check if I’m senile and I passed! Nobody saw a result like it before!” - and they have to hoot and holler how great and specular their Pathetic Messiah’s VERY, VERY GOOD BRAIN is.

Capitalists taking three months to figure out what the Democratic party took four years to finally come to terms with.
