i genuinely think people should take as many free samples as they want from costco. like costco isn’t giving free samples out of the goodness of their heart. it’s better someone take them whether they are going to share them with other family members, are just hungry, or whatever reason. for costco there will always be more samples.

      • I agree but not if someone else wants them too or if it’s an undue burden on the worker providing them, i support reasonable portion sizing 😤 yall would understand if you spent 4 hours making Very Good Food but woops it wasn’t enough because one person took twenty servings (and probably threw most away 🙄) so now you have to make more quickly and it won’t be nearly as good 😢

nobody needs to tell me the costco food handler isn’t making the food im just saying my crank opinions come from somewhere

Fuck Costco and the guy in the OP, but it prob is annoying for the sample worker especially if said sample was prepared in a way were they may not be able to immediately replenish them. I say take 2 max at a time (Or 1 for each person if in a group), make a round, then come back if u want more. More polite imo.

idk i’d give samples at a grocery store i used to work at forever ago and it was really no big deal for me at least. sometimes people are likely grabbing extra for their family who may be at the other end of the store but i really don’t mind whatever reason someone may be taking extra. honestly with how much good food i would see thrown out at the store i worked at i’m much more happy seeing people enjoying and getting fed for free no matter what. it may be different for other workers but i really don’t like assuming negatively of anyone taking advantage of free food, especially not knowing their situation.

I’ve had a friend or 2 in the past who were specifically Costco sample people, and my comment is essentially what they told me. They said there was alot of spoken and unspoken pressure from management and customers to always have samples out, and when there were none, crowds and lines would form adding to that pressure. Anything heated or cooked was especially difficult to keep up with due to their popularity and longer preparation time compared to something like chips.

infinite samples upon the costco world

Imagine getting mad about costco suppliers having to spend 12% more on their sample marketing budget

I support shoplifting, you think I wouldn’t support taking as many free samples too? It’s just legal shoplifting.

        that isn’t it though

Like come on dawg, say you want one, just one, you’re saying there’s no number of taken samples that would lead to you feeling annoyed at the greed, gluttony, wanton excess and callous disregard for anyone else

Homer Simpson over there demolishing free samples that you and a hundred others could be taking, but it’s cool?? remember, you’d also be taking them from costco

At no point has “the cost to costco” entered the matrix of shit i give a shit about

you demand we follow the treat norms and i just don’t give a shit about them

they have functionally infinite re-stocks of samples, this is a silly and stupid discussion. I hold no reverence for treats, hence why I’m fine with some glutton smashing down 100 of them. It’s you that holds them so sacred we must follow the queue rules

A good deal of it is just taking the piss out of a whiner. It’s incosiderate to take that many samples and most people would acknowledge that but going full pearl clutch over it is a bit pathetic and should be called.

Teaching your kid to get upset over something like this is just setting them up for failure.
