Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said he isnât buying all that Democratic âjoyâ on display at this past weekâs Democratic National Convention in Chicago during a Sunday appearance with Jake Tapper on CNNâs State of the Union.
During their conversation, Tapper brought up the âdisciplinedâ and âwell-producedâ DNC this week that, as the journalist put it, âconveyed patriotism and unity.â Graham didnât see it that way.
âWell, I didnât see what you saw,â Graham told Tapper with a laugh. âIf youâre a Republican, you saw a hate fest. You saw a hate fest full of insults.â
âAmericans are not joyful when they go to the gas station and fill up their car,â he continued. âTheyâre not joyful when they make their mortgage payment. Theyâre not joyful when they go to the grocery store. People are hurting, and this whole joy love fest doesnât exist in the real world.â
To bolster his claim, Graham pointed to the gas prices, the state of the border, and inflation during Donald Trumpâs presidency when âthe world was not on fire.â
Heâs either lying or what he said gives us a look into his shitty perspective of the world. Either way such a miserable and pathetic existence.
true, if youâre Lindsey Graham
The problem with this corrosive, inflexible conservative narrative, is that these joyless assholes try and impose themselves politically and on everybody.
Hopefully! đ€
Also true if he is talking about Joy the character from Pixarâs Inside Out
Man who has never experienced joy claims joy does not exist; more at 11
Uh-oh, the War on Christmas has claimed Lindsay Graham as its latest victim!
Seems like the problem with the republicans, or any religious conservative for that matter, is that because their rules (that they chose to follow) donât allow them to have fun, or that theyre dead inside as a result of those rules, no one else is allowed to live a live outside of those rules.
âPuritanism â The haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy.â â H L Mencken
Itâs almost like many conservatives are psychopaths who are literally incapable of emotions (well, other than hatred anyhow.)
Oh wait, they are:
sources
We found eleven significant correlations between conservative [Moral Intuition Survey] judgments and the Dark Triad â [narcissism, Machiavellianism, psychopathy,] all at significance level of p<.00001 â and no significant correlations between liberal [Moral Intuition Survey] judgments and the Dark Triad. We believe that these results raise provocative moral questions about the personality bases of moral judgments. In particular, we propose that because the Short-D3 measures three âdark and antisocialâ personality traits, our results raise some prima facie worries about the moral justification of some conservative moral judgments
I ran a follow-up study testing the Dark Triad against conservative and liberal judgments on 15 additional moral issues. The new issues examined include illegal immigration, abortion, the teaching of âintelligent designâ in public schools, the use of waterboarding and other âenhanced interrogation techniquesâ in the war on terrorism, laws defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman, and environmentalism. 1154 participants [âŠ] Twenty-two significant correlations were observed between âconservativeâ judgments and the Dark Triad (all of which were significant past a Bonferonni-corrected significance threshold of pâ=â.0008), compared to seven significant correlations between Dark Triad and âliberalâ judgments (only one of which was significant past pâ=â.0008).
In the present research (N = 675), we focus on the relationship between the dark side of human personality and political orientation and extremism, respectively, in the course of a presidential election where the two candidates represent either left-wing or right-wing political policies. Narcissism, Machiavellianism, psychopathy, and everyday sadism were associated with right-wing political orientation, whereas narcissism and psychopathy were associated with political extremism. Moreover, the relationships between personality and right-wing political orientation and extremism, respectively, were relatively independent from each other.
That explains the republican mindset so well. If joy doesnât exist in the world, youâre not taking it from others when you spread your misery.
Lindsey, just because being in a hotel room with another man feels like a fantasy world, does not mean joy does not exist in the real world.
The state of the border is due to Republican interference on that border bill specifically requested by Trump to keep it an issue this election, gas prices are well below inflation, and Inflation performance was better overall when compared to other Western Nations during Bidenâs term and worse than during Trumps.
Lindsey is full of shit.
I hope he finds joy by admitting to himself and others who he really is.
Yeah. I dunno about LG, but I often reflect on the fabulous drag queen show that would kick off an age of prosperity if a bunch of closeted conservatives could relax and stop bullshitting themselves.
Lindsey Graham is a he? Iâd heard the name, and always assumed it was some blonde haired bimbo who wears glasses to give the apperance of an intellectual without anything of value to actually say.
i hope you find your mind
Lindsey Graham shouldnât exist in the real world.
I hope he just gets booed everywhere he goes.
And how can you change that as a lawmaker?
Edit: Of course this is meant to be a joke, because thatâs the exact opposite of GOP. Capitalize on hate and drive hope into the bowels of hell.
Heâs not a lawmaker, heâs a radical Christian nationalist in lawmaker clothes.
He actually believes this

âŠoh man. What a comment to read before the mods eventually purge it.
81113 hours and itâs still up đGuess the joke police finally arrived. Oh well, had a pretty good run as far as controversial humor goes đ€·
Itâs because everywhere he goes, he sucks the joy out of the room.
Sucking more than joy.
What a weird thing to say
The inevitable result of republican policies.
