In parenting classes in my liberal area, the nurses will say “I’m required to tell you that circumcision has medical benefits”. Then they fume how it’s based off bad research and cut themselves short. “However it’s not like your son will be lined up for a nude photo. You can break the cycle of trauma”. I’m lucky to live here.

For niche topics yes, Reddit is 1000x the size of the fediverse. In terms of smart commenters and debates, not so much.

I’m only being a little snarky. Just because they’re defederated doesn’t mean you can’t go there if you agree with their opinions. Censorship would be “you’re under arrest”, not “I’m walking away”.

Really? I’ve seen Lemmings are much more competent, way higher debate ability, far less disinformation. Also I’ve seen this 10x so far in a month: “sorry, you’re right”. Almost never saw that on Reddit. And I’ve had to say it many times too.
