I spent my 9/11 learning that insurance aint covering the surgery I need on my tailbone and the only surgeon that will do it will only do it two days before I was supposed to fly to my family for thanksgiving vacation and recovery involves no sitting. So no thxgiving this year, no seeing family, all PTO is going towards recovery, and I’m paying out of pocket (putting in on credit, there’s nothing in the pocket). Oh an no refunds on the flight ticket even with medical emergency. Happy 9/11!

20·4 months agoMy case was lawsuit (slip and fall in a restaurant) and when they asked the pool if you think there should be caps on lawsuit payouts, I shot my hand up. We had a 15 minute break and I was the only one not called back in.
So the real trick is to signal that you’re not in the lawyer’s monetary best interest.
