The doctors … warn that pledges of increased aid to Palestinians under bombardment are largely meaningless without an immediate ceasefire to allow safe distribution of food and the revival of healthcare services.
“The IDF are systematically targeting healthcare facilities, healthcare personnel and really dismantling the whole healthcare system,” he said.
“It’s not just about targeting the buildings, it’s about systematically destroying the infrastructure of the hospitals. Destroying the oxygen tanks at the al-Shifa hospital, deliberately destroying the CT scanners and making it much more difficult to rebuild that infrastructure. If it was just targeting Hamas militants, why are they deliberately destroying the infrastructure of these institutions?”
If you think it isn’t a genocide at this point then you just don’t care.
And it’s depressing to see that that’s how most people view it, especially at this level.
At least 50% of Biden voters say Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians, poll finds
And that was almost two months ago.
That’s still really low IMO given the data available to us now.
I only see it rising too, even a majority of conservatives support a permanent ceasefire
Can we please stop referring to Washington D.C. as “Washington”. That’s the name of a whole other state. Just call it “D.C.”.
I was wondering why doctors in Seattle were warning about IDF atrocities.
Eh, it’s more-commonly used globally than Washington-the-state, which is often called “Washington State” to avoid ambiguity.
EDIT: Though it does look like we did try to disambiguate the two, apparently not very effectively:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington_(state)
Washington was named after President George Washington by an act of the United States Congress during the creation of Washington Territory in 1853; the territory was to be named “Columbia”, for the Columbia River and the Columbia District, but Kentucky representative Richard H. Stanton found the name too similar to the District of Columbia (the national capital, itself containing the city of Washington), and proposed naming the new territory after President Washington.
Then apparently Washington, DC had a go at swiping the name:
Confusion between the state of Washington and the city of Washington, D.C., led to renaming proposals during the statehood process for Washington in 1889, including David Dudley Field II’s suggestion to name the new state “Tacoma”; these proposals failed to garner support. Washington, D.C.'s, own statehood movement in the 21st century has included a proposal to use the name “State of Washington, Douglass Commonwealth”, which would conflict with the current state of Washington. Residents of Washington (known as “Washingtonians”) and the Pacific Northwest simply refer to the state as “Washington”, and the nation’s capital “Washington, D.C.”, “the other Washington”, or simply “D.C.”

Context clues bro. This is first grade shit.
It’s funny that you complain about that, then imply that all of Washington state is Seattle.
Uh
