One thing we know of Orban is that he can be trusted with what he says.

Unfortunately as long as he remains a a loyal puppet state of Moscow he will probably get to stay in power. He will just need to host some Russian nukes and allow Putin to make attacks from his soil with Hungarian troops.

Oh don’t worry. He’s already there. Suddenly all the old geezers from outside Budapest are vying for the return of “Communism”, and the dumdums youngins are going along with it. Even though they don’t remember how shitty it actually used to be. Nor that it wasn’t really communism either.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Donald Trump will not fund Ukraine’s fight against Russia’s invasion if he is elected US president again, Hungarian PM Viktor Orban has said.

The Hungarian prime minister has repeatedly drawn strong criticism from fellow EU leaders for maintaining close ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin, ever since he launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022.

Unlike many other Western nations, Mr Orban refuses to send weapons to its neighbour Ukraine, stating repeatedly that Kyiv is unable to win against a nuclear-armed Russia.

The Republicans - openly encouraged by Mr Trump - say they will not allow the bill to clear the final hurdle in the House of Representatives without first agreeing additional funding for US border security.

Russian forces have recently made gains in eastern Ukraine, as Kyiv experiences acute shortages in ammunition.

Ukraine is critically dependent on weapons from the US, the main supplier, and other Western allies to keep fighting Russia - a much bigger military force with an abundance of artillery ammunition.

Oh man I hope so, America needs to stop screwing around in other people’s business. The only Americans who benefit from wars are those who sell the bombs. If Putin decides he’s gonna be a real problem, fight him then. Otherwise we are just lighting all our money on fire (literally) for no gain.

I’ve seen this movie before, but in that one, the villain had a silly mustache and walked funny. 🤔

America didn’t bother with that one either, until Mr. Mustache’s rising-sun-buddies blew up a harbor.

Yeah it worked out great for the world letting those goons run around unchecked for a while. I’m sure this one would sort itself if we just stay out of it. /s

Well technically the US is the cause of all this, but not how you would think.

To them defeating communism is more important than human life of regional stability. Latin-America is a perfect example, as it’s rife with sanctions and embargos, haphazardly followed by the EU as a matter of precedent for decades now.

Juxtapose that to the cold war, McCarthyism taken to it’s extremes, a fair bit of fear mongering, allow a fascist right-wing regime to grow over the decades to become spiteful of it all and see them do the Euro imperialistic tango once more.

In essence, the fake neo-nazis in Ukraine was a weak excuse. But add US imperialism, formaly known as US NATO imperialism, and you’ve got what can be seen as a fair point. An aggressive foreign adversary, with more than it’s shares of government overthrowals (the CIA has the world high score in sponsored coups), and you’ve got not only geo-political precedent, but also a Goliath to play David against.

LMAO, that is exactly what I think, though I don’t think ive ever put it that well. It’s quite obvious that America is trying to expand it’s reach to include Ukraine, and that is fundamentally a big threat to Russia, seeing as America has made NATO into the “Fuck Russia” club. It’s kind of insane that westerners will rightly say the Russian version of imperialism is wrong, but have no issue with the American version, despite all of South and Central America being living proof of how destructive it is. It’s legitimately MORE harmful to overthrow a government and install a bloodthirsty dictator who ruins your economy for decades to come than it is to bomb cities and engage in traditional warfare.

And in case anyone thinks that was all 20th century stuff, America certainly is not done doing this, they attempted to enact the typical playbook in 2018 in Venezuela (again), by declaring their puppet, Juan Guiado, the winner of an election that was won fairly by Maduro, on top of the mercenaries sent to assassinate Maduro.

          Collecting downvotes

It’s what happens when you tell people the truth.

Clearly we’re not worthy of your wisdom.

Specially here, but you can think whatever you want, I couldn’t care less (:

Yeah, that’s looks to be part of your problem. You’re talking “at” people, not to them. Further, you mix in unnecessary insulting language in whatever point you’re trying to make which immediately alienates your audience.

So you’re not changing minds. Which raises the question, why do you bother? Do you get some kind of personal value out of your martyrdom? Does it allow you some kind of comfort that you’ve convinced yourself you’re right which lets you double down on your edgy takes? Are you angry in life and can’t vent to those you interact with in real life, so you dump on strangers on the internet? If so, I don’t think that is healthy for you.

Oh, well if they got downvotes… Of course we can tell he’s a bad person, he disagreed with the hive mind. And we can tell that he was wrong in all those instances because he got downvoted.

Best to just fully disengage from anybody who disagrees with the hive mind, to be safe.

Edit: InB4 this person writes exactly the same thing about me. Hey, why don’t we just ban anyone who has negative karma and just be done with it?

If that’s your defense of them, you haven’t looked at their posts. I’m not stopping you. Go ahead! Do you still jump to their defense now? Is this person’s interesting and insightful views being crushed under the boot of conformity or perhaps is it something else?

And we can tell that he was wrong in all those instances because he got downvoted.

If nearly every community you go to doesn’t want you there, then its more than just a philosophical disagreement about the material being discussed.

Best to just fully disengage from anybody who disagrees with the hive mind, to be safe.

That’s cute. There is zero obligation to interact with jerks simply because they disagree with you. Being open minded doesn’t mean you have to consume their vitriol irrespective of how toxic it is or how abrasive the speaker is. The social contract requires each party to bring a certain amount of mutual respect. I didn’t see them bringing it to those conversations.

I didn’t read their comments at all, I just noticed someone being the victim of obviously circular reasoning. This site has gotten very hive-mind ish lately, and comments like the one I replied to are a big part of why. People say the same thing about me, how I’m an obvious troll because I push back on the majority narrative. The impulse to just hand wave away anyone who disagrees with you gets heavily amplified here, for whatever reason.
