We have a shit neighbor. So I’m not surprised. What surprised me is that Mexico is above both the USA and Canada. Really?

      Seems strange.

Right? I’m new to this community, but it seems off. How is this a meme and not just a fact or news being shared?

There have been several posts that made me side-eye and question the mods as they won’t be memes at all and will literally just be a tweet about facts or smth, so this is just a water-cooler for anything posted to social media I guess. I just ignore it now.

Pretty much this, for some reason meme communities seem allergic to quality control or at least to keep the meme community for memes and point the rest to microblogmemes

Those scores are not objective. Don’t read it as “people are this happy” but as “people report in a survey they are this happy”. People will report high scores because they think they should (“My country always scores high on this, I don’t want to spoil it” ), because the previous scores change people perception (“Fins are famous for being happy, I can’t put less then 7, right?”) or because they want to defend their country (“Enemies want to see Israel suffer but I will show them we’re still happy here despite all of it: 10”). People will also put low scores to protests (“Nothing change in my life in the last year but I will put 1 to show that Trump sucks”).

completely free health care. 90% government subsidy for colleges. Comparable social security. And no pressure to pretend you’re anything but a murderous racist supremecist.

If they are so happy and well developed, why are they are number one recipient-- by a lot-- for foreign aid money?

When your government and a bunch of the regular people base their happiness literally on making other people unhappy because they’re unhappy…that’s what you get. It’s also like a drug, the antagonists’ happiness with their successes is short-lived, so they need to inflict more and more terrible things on others for that feel-good sadistic kick that doesn’t actually solve any of the problems that pushed us down this path.

Costa Rica is the happiest place in the Americas. I wouldn’t have guessed that. Guess they’re doing something right. Quick look at Wikipedia showed high education spending and no standing army.

Gosh how many kids did Trump touch to keep the bit up this long?

I’m sure his supports would condone a few rapes.
