Damselflies not Dragonflies.
oh shoot all this time I was always wondering why some of them were way bigger than the others and never thought about what a damselfly was after hearing the name, thank you
It’s not so much the size that tells them apart. Damselflies fold their wings together when they rest while dragonflies always have them out to the sides of their body.
do they eat mosquitos like dragonflies?
edit: had time to look it up -
Adult damselflies catch and eat flies, mosquitoes, and other small insects. Often they hover among grasses and low vegetation, picking prey off stems and leaves with their spiny legs (unlike dragonflies which prefer catching flying prey).
pretty too.
Are they having sex?
yeah, you can tell by the heart shape they make with their bodies that they are making love
