He was wounded off the coast of France, and brought to the United Kingdom to be treated at what is now James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough. It makes sense, greek food is very good :D

It’s a meat cutlet battered and deep fried, covered in bechemel sauce and cheese. Common in the Teesside area.
