I was 13 years old when I watched this scene the the theater and I thought Natalie Portman was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen.

I didn’t even register any of the dialect being said.

Really should have let him down in public to avoid trouble. Like at the space-Waffle House.

This is the traditional rejection outfit women on Naboo wear. You should see the outfit they wear for romantic acceptance!

This is a combination theory/retreatment of the script I’ve been knocking around inside my head for a while.

Imagine if Episode II had been written as Anakin growing up to be a very reserved and indoctrinated Jedi. He’s very obedient, not emotional at all. But obi-wan feels like he’s holding back and not using the force or fighting with his full strength. Reuniting with Padme when they’re both older makes Anakin take notice of new feelings he had learned about but never experienced before.

Padme, on the other hand, becomes immediately enthralled. Not expecting that little boy to be such an attractive and talented Jedi.

      SHE comes on to HIM.

He initially brushes it off, doesn’t reciprocate, but she keeps saying things and doing things to get his attention. He starts quoting Jedi Code to her and averting his gaze. When Anakin saves her life from the assassination attempt, it just strengthens her resolve.

Obi-wan is fixated on solving the mystery and doesn’t see this happening. He sends Anakin off with Padme to Naboo and Anakin tries to warn him that it’s a bad idea… Now Padme is laying it on thick. Anakin’s dialog on the transport where he argues that Jedi are encouraged to love is now Padme’’s attempt to deconstruct his rigid adherence to rules. That actually makes him stop and think. Now her come ons are starting to chip away at him.

The rest of the movie is watching Anakin give way to her enabling and they grow closer pretty much how it already happens. When they reunite with Obi-wan in the arena, he can see what’s happening between them. But he also sees that Anakin is now fighting with far more power and focus than ever before so he quietly decides to hold his tongue and see what how it pans out.

Love it and it helps make Vader an even more tragic character, tbh. Not only did he lose his wife, but she had brainwashed him into being overly attached to her.

Is Padme kind of a groomer?

In the Star Wars universe celibacy is canonically heroic.

If you fuck and reproduce you’ve given someone else power over you and you’ve created your replacement/successor… almost like a Sith Lord and their Apprentice…

Before moving, there was a Goth club called The Church.

That outfit would, from what I’ve heard, be far too formal and restrained.

Apparently, and this was coming from a platonic female friend, anal is like shaking hands there so what do I know. I never had the urge to drive from North Fort Worth to Downtown Dallas to drink, and then turn around and drive back after drinking and possibly making stupid choices.

I have two types, natural redheads, and goth chicks.
