I can’t post to Announcements so this is going here instead.
The SSL certificate for the site has expired. I’ve already reached out to mrmanager and hopefully they’ll surface soon to get it corrected.
Thanks for the update.
Thanks Buelldozer, you are awesome. :)
For anyone else who sees this post, there was a post, three hours old as of this writing, in !announcements@lemmy.today by @mrmanager@lemmy.today that the cert issues should be fixed.
Letsencrypt only have 3 month ssl. Not sure who your host is but i guess they dont automatically renew. You could use cloudflare as a free proxy, they have a ssl service that automatically renews. Cloudflare might not be a company best associated with Lemmy though
If you can access the site via a web browser and ignore the “expired cert” warning — I can do this in Firefox 128.11.0 on desktop — then you can do that and still access the site before they get the certificate updated.
The Eternity native client on Android can’t do this.
That being said, I would assume that the cert is also required to authenticate the instance for federated interchange of data, so this may also muck with lemmy.today’s connectivity to other Threadiverse instances.
EDIT: Yeah, I’m pretty sure that the cert being expired killed connectivity to other instances, as I’m not seeing posts from elsewhere newer than about four hours as of this writing.
I am seeing only 1 upvote on posts from lemmy.world since it started working again.
