    I am moved!

The moving guys were very efficient, and my sister was absolutely fabulous and kept Mr Woof out of trouble for me. He and Miss Meow are a bit perplexed as to what is going on and where we are, but doing ok. I will need to try to clear some boxes before dinner so there is somewhere to feed them. Also need to set up their water fountain and make my bed.

I still can’t believe just how many boxes of stuff I have.

Today’s edition of ‘cats are not dogs’. Bit worried about kitty alone all day while I was in the office (my place is smaller than her normal home). Got home at five and had to go and find her in her little cubby hole. Not a care. Did get a cuddle and a purr though.

Bliss. Soxcat has decided to nestle on my lap in bed, for the second night in a row, of her own accord 🥰 even though the oodiecatbed is right there.

It will be sad to shuffle her off when it’s time to sleep. For now, maybe I’ll read an ebook…

These dog walks are such a mixed bag.

Today’s highlight was going prone in the middle of camberwell road (again) and refusing to move because he saw another dog in the distance lol. I dunno how they do it but I swear dogs can make themselves heavier when they don’t want to move.

    AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH

Moving day. I am still packing.

I thought to start the day with coffee and realised I have packed my teaspoons. I was able to find the emergency teaspoon from my work lunchbag, so complete disaster was averted.

Miss Meow is currently chomping on her drugged breakfast. Wobbles and confinement to follow.

Beautiful day out doing fieldwork in a large bushland area with no public access - I feel thoroughly restored and invigorated. Just as well because tomorrow looks like it’ll be a bit shit… Must not forget to pack a thermos of piping hot water.

Told off some ticket inspectors yesterday for not helping a little ol’ granny get her pusher on the tram. They were extremely combative and aggressive lol. I’ve seen one of them before having a real go at a young foreign lady so it felt good.

You’d think they’d be seizing every opportunity to tip the karmic scales in the other direction.

There used to be tram conductors whose job was to help people. The ticket inspectors are just there to collect money

I truly believe part of the purpose of inspectors is to make passengers feel bad and frightened

passengers who feel bad and frightened are less likely to demand a better service

I remember the on the spot fines were so people wouldn’t contest fines in court since Myki wasn’t sound enough to holdup to legal scrutiny.

The inspectors were just there to scare people into making a quick buck so they wouldn’t contest the shaky system the tickets were built on.

I think it’s going to be an early night tonight. Mr Woof “helped” make the bed. The new bed frame fits around the mattress quite tighly compared to the old one, it should help to keep the sheets in place much better.

I had pretty much everything I need for the first night and tomorrow packed and labeled to make things as easy as possible, but completely forgot about my slippers. They are packed in a box with all my shoes, which I think is somewhere in the garage. Fortunately my parting gift from work included some nice fluffy warm socks with grippy soles to wear inside, and I know where that basket is.

Well that was an eventful morning train ride. Packed in like sardines as Metro cancelled a train during rush hour, then someone fainted in the train. I pressed the emergency button as I was right next to it, and help the person out of the train. While this was all going down, people on the platform were trying to cram into the train and those of us helping were yelling to back off so we could get the person off the train. The next train was coming in 5 minutes, the desperation of people to cram in was nuts.
