Apologies if this has been asked before; I didn’t see it among recent posts and I like to hear everyone’s hot takes.

I think most women get in relationships way faster, is part of the issue. All of the women past a certain age are racing against time, and searching for marriage.

My experience with casual sex as an adult was that it was readily available to me, but as soon as I said I was going to start dating for real, my casual guys (who I specifically was with because I figured they didn’t get attached) wanted to date. Me. I was surprised, to put it mildly.

I haven’t ever felt like I was racing against time, though. Had kids because I wanted them, and wasn’t interested in marriage, got married in my late 40s because my now husband wanted to pretty bad, and because, since I had kids and he did, it made sense, stepparent is a stronger legal status than “mom’s boyfriend”.

Maybe I’m an outlier but maybe not. It always seemed to me that marriage advantages men more than women.

Oh yea. Men compartmentalize like that. Sometimes sex has nothing to do with romance, sometimes they get too close from being with you for a long time.

I’m personally curious about both things.

      Not in the slightest

A big factor is the society in which you live, so perhaps in a more religious place like 'Murica that carries some weight, but I assure you that it’s not like that whatsoever where I live

I’m more of a marrying type than my fiancée, and I always have been
