I feel like after what happened in Germany recently that doesn’t hold as much water. If the average left wants to defend socialized healthcare and tax the rich, then the Dems are left.

Democrats don’t want to do either of that. Folks like AOC and Bernie should realistically be on their own party.

Yeah, years of pandering to fascists by elevating their topics, repeating their lies unchallenged and also blaming everything on “the foreigners” shifts politics to the right and far right. Doesn’t mean that it shifts what is left and what is right.

You can have countries full of fascists. Doesn’t mean the “moderate fascists” now get to define what is “left”.

This “logic” of course is peddled by the US Democrats and amplified by the Oligarchy. Also the US Democrats dont want to tax the rich. Over the past Decades they have shifted the taxes from capital to income. There never was a proper healthcare system in the US and Obama defended not creating a proper one when he had the power because “muuh Jobs”.

I think that left being progressive and right being conservative means that the absolute scale does change based on the current situation.

That is such an American view on politics.

A right wing party doing well in one election, does not shift the entire political spectrum for all the other parties. Specially not when you have a parliment with six or so different parties.

It’s a lot more than a right wing party doing well, it’s a right wing party shifting into territories that used to be radical and still winning. Elon Musk was shown on stage for the AfD telling them to stop being ashamed of germany’s past.

While it is deeply concerning, faux news has been one of the most shared propaganda networks on social media for well over a decade, so it’s not surprising that their disinformation-induced MAGA-mental-illness is spreading throughout the world.

Crime pays; especially when the oligarchs are paying for it.
