    Care to explain why you would think only the privileged are the ones who tend not to put the cart before the horse?

    Edit: apologies, I skimmed read and was half asleep when I read the post. I did not realise that the person already signed the contract but was suddenly thrown under the bus.

      If you’re as far along as the guy in OP then you’re being irresponsible to not be looking for a place to live. Dude got the job and had it pulled from him, this would get him unemployment in California at least (I should know - I got unemployment in California in basically this scenario)

        As someone mentioned already, wait until actually signing the contract before moving. It is not “privileged” not to put the cart before the horse.

          “signing the contract” doesn’t happen at most places, an offer is more than enough to constitute reasonable cause to start preparing to move for a job

          If you wait to start moving your gonna not have a place to live with that new job, shit takes time
