So only partially functional I assume?
Sorry, I would write something elaborate and meaningful here, but just can’t form my opinion without getting the whole picture :/
I see what you did there
Good news, everyone!
We’re back, baby!
Edit: Maybe a touch premature. It’s a little wonky, but I can get through slower than usual.
Edit+: Engines performing within normal operating parameters
Only mostly back.
Fucking obscure covert dad joke
And I tried to open Lemmy to distract me from that fact. multiple times. I feel slightly ashamed.
The same feeling as when the internet is down so you try to go to those down detector websites to see if the internet is down.
The main times in the evening when I’m on Lemmy are when my host’s admin (in Germany) is asleep. So if my host is having issues I just have to accept that I’m probably done with TF for the day.
This is in line with the rule that if you have a dental problem it will be on a Friday evening.
“We took him apart and now we don’t know how to put him back together.”
Man, Lore has a 6-pack and an ass you could bounce quarters off of. Meanwhile Data looks like he’s got a little paunch
Eh, tomato tomato.
Potato potato
Oh good, it’s not just me.
Seems to be some trouble…
This shit is aggravating. Even had to break out the alt account I haven’t touched for months.
That’s more like it!!
Maybe not the second part.
No takebacks.
Same here with my instance at Lemmy.ca … I maintain an Alt account at Lemmy.world
So what do I do when my alt (this one) has now become my main? :-P
True, but the coolest thing is it just goes to show another benefit of the fediverse. We’re still able to post/comment on here with alts even when their servers are having issues.
Also an opportunity to impersonate someone like a mod or something by making an account on a different instance using the same username of a known user and claiming to be their alt. I cannot think of lasting damage that could be done, but just pointing out that there can be also downsides that we should be wary of.
Pay attention to the domain lol
Same shit with spam emails
That’s the problem. If there was a well-known user named “foobar@lemmy.world” and the instance went down, that would be a perfect opportunity for some other random person to create an account named “foobar@sh.itjust.works” and claim to be the alt account of “foobar@lemmy.world”, just on a different instance because lemmy.world is down at the moment.
Fair, some sort of verifiable identity marker, people hate crypto but an nft in your wallet could be used for identification.
Abe Froman… I mean, ummthatguy?
Hmm a very interesting point. And I don’t think we want to implement a “blue check” symbol for verified accounts.
I would pay eight replicator rations for Lemmy Premium just to get a lame checkmark by my name.
I keep having to smash f5 every few seconds SMH. Time to go do something else for a while.
