I want to lead NASA! I’ve seen a ton of rocket and space ship movies!

played a lot of kerbal space program.

Ooh, I’m sorry but in this administration that probably means you’re over qualified.

Wasn’t the ex reality TV star who became president and put a news reader in charge of the military and anti-vaxxer in charge of healthcare, just talking about and glorifying meritocracies the other day? I thought these people were so against DEI because they care that much about having the right person for the job?

Meritocracy kind of inherently, if not often admittedly, means “if you’re rich and/or famous, you deserve to be.”

It becomes a circular logic where fortune justifies privilege and privilege is used to extract more fortune.

I would be stunned if it WASN’T someone wildly unqualified. The only thing that matters is if you can sufficiently lick a boot.

i feel like there’s a point to selecting specifically anti-qualified people though, sorta like how scammers will send messages that are obviously nonsense in order to only get replies from gullible people.
