I double and triple checked my and my 18 year old daughter’s voter registration. It was my resolution to be more politically involved in local politics this year. Our voter registration is active and current. I double and triple checked our polling locations.

We were turned away from two polling locations. VoteTexas showed that we were both active and current and eligible to vote in today’s special elections. We went to two of the polling locations that we were supposed to have been able to vote at. Both locations told us the same thing- that we were not found in their systems and that we weren’t eligible to vote in the current election. We made sure it was within our precinct. No answer as to why. We even had my daughter’s voter registration card which they looked at/ ran, and had no explanation as to why we couldn’t vote other than we “weren’t in the system”.

The workers there were very helpful- they took about 25 minutes each to double check. They told me to check with the TXSOs, whom I have emailed.

We live in Harris County, Katy TX. We pay taxes for both Katy ISD and CFISD and my kids attend school in Katy ISD. Our house is on the border of Katy and CYFair and we pay taxes to both but had a choice in which district to send our kids.

I can’t understand how we can pay taxes to a district but aren’t allowed to vote in their elections???
