We often take trips of a couple hundred miles and used to stop at McDonald’s often for lunch or breakfast. Late and post Covid the food they served got worse and worse while their prices went up and up. After being served one particularly inedible lunch we finally said enough.

That was until 3 weeks ago when we decided to give them another go. We grabbed some burgers in the late evening and found insects crawling around on the food inside the wrapping. Management wasn’t the least bit surprised. Now we’re really done.

McDonald’s is so expensive now that if my family is going to eat out there are lots of better options at the same price point.

That’s why people came to you McDonald’s, cheap food.

A combo costs $13 here in Ohio, for that price I could go get a burrito from chipotle, or a bowl from bibibop, or a sub from Jersey mikes, or a hundred other better options.

If I want something cheaper I can go to Taco Bell and get a $5 box.

So at the price point I can get better food, there’s also equally quality food at lower price points, why does anyone still go to McDonald’s

Cheap food, served fast. It’s no longer fast it’s no longer cheap, and it’s become only borderline edible.

Hasn’t been cheap for a long time. At least here in EU. Most fast food is two to ten times more expensive than cooking. Doesn’t even matter much what you cook, as long as it’s not vast amounts of truffles etc…

The thing is, fewer ppl can afford it every year. Especially families, which is McDonakds primary customer group.

Low quality salty shit food should not cost a lot - that’s the deal right?

Don’t normally eat fast food but was going to make an exception tonight because I had a ton of errands to run and no time to cook. Sat in the hardware store parking lot and pulled up the app on my phone - the best deal was 40% off a double cheeseburger or a free medium fry lol. Get fucked - you need better shit than that to convince me to eat there.

If the price is high and the quality is still shit forget it I’ll go somewhere else. I went up the road and had gas station taco truck tacos and it was absolutely the right call.

Unfortunately they’re probably going to react by further raising prices on their more popular items, increasing discount promotions only for people who download their app, and then doing the surprise Pikachu face again a year from today.

They want $3 for a standard cheeseburger. It’s not even worth my time to see if there’s any coupons or deals anymore.

We used to get McDonald’s 2-3 times a month. I haven’t bought from them since December, and I’m struggling to find a reason to ever go back regularly.

My local grocery store had ground beef at 2.50 a pound. I priced it out per burger, with the fixings it costs under $3 for two 1/3 pound burgers. The other week we did steaks (top sirloin $10/pound) and potatoes which were still cheaper than a combo. I haven’t been to McD’s in years. I guess I’m too cheap.

I wonder if it will be made up for by sales in foreign countries, surely they’re still keen on some good old fashioned symbolic-of-America fast food.
