After the SC ruling, Labour should have come out and said: that given the ambiguity in the law has been resolved but in a way that doesn’t account for trans people, we will be bringing forward updated legislation to close the gap. Sort of like the whole Civil Partnership vs Marriage idiocy.
The basic principle should be: don’t be a cunt. And then work from there.
