Sister Julien is canonically having a relationship with the Bursar (and possibly Ciaphas) in the Cain novels so celibacy is clearly not as enforced as it could be. Amberly mentions it’s not actually forbidden, it’s just the average SoB can’t find the time given the strictures of most orders’ cloistered life. If we imagine most of them to be like the stricter Catholic orders like the Poor Claires and Trappists that’s unsurprising. I’ve not read the Heresy novels but how do the SoB have characters when they’re not founded until the AoA? EDIT: I lack reading comprehension.

Wait, I thought there is no celibacy in the Sororitas. Afaik there is no vow of celibacy. That seems just a common misconception or maybe got retconned at some point?

They are just very devoted to their faith and role as warriors.

They simply don’t have much time for romantic relationships, and obviously raising kids doesn’t really work for the fighting orders, so they would have to give them away to the Schola Progenium. (In most cases I assume)

TLDR im sure some Sororitas have sex (including gay sex) but due to their role I doubt most of them have many serious romantic relationships.

Yeah, not actually a rule, just discouraged and not practical for most. I imagine some non-militants like Dialogous that get out more with the Inquisition and Rogue Traders absolutely have relationships. In fact I’d say outside of a Rogue trader a Dalogous is probably the single highest probability for a Human Eldar relationship.

Yeah the non-militant orders as you said are sure to have romantic relationships be a more common thing. Plus I imagine it probably depends on the culture of the order as well. Some orders might take a more laid back (by sororitas standards) approach to it. While other might not.
