Had to stand up to my manager today. He took it pretty well.
Surprised to be honest.

I’ve been here at the beach house about a month now
nearly all settled in, still a lot of work but the chaos is receding 🙂
Wow, that time has flown! Glad things are settling down now - moving is such a big deal
I think I’ve spent half the time just resting my mind after the anxiety of inner city living living
there aren’t people screaming at night
my letter box and garage doesn’t get broken into
no porch pirates
no nasty neighbours
it’s just quieter
dreaming
dreaming of …
🎶I dream of a place where I can be free of the bungholes at last…
Just saw someone whip it out and take a leak right there on the ground with heaps of people around at the Bourke x Swanston st tram stop 🤮
The city has been feral since lock down.

I saw a guy with it out wanking on same street
i looked away asap
it’s dreadful what has happened to the city and people
Man, this behemoth of a laptop has really chewed into my luggage allowance. Can’t take my work laptop, will have to deal with accessing work stuff from SharePoint on my personal laptop instead.
I’ve been in a mad rush trying to clear out the fridge and tidy things up before tomorrow… Plus side is I made a kickass fried rice with all the leftover rice, enough for brunch tomorrow before the flight and for the freezer as an excellent meal for when I get back.
Once again I cannot be grateful enough for my dishwasher. Takes so much out of the chaos. My mind is in a million places… But I’m almost through my Anxiety List!
2nd coat of paint is done, table is starting to look good. I think I’ll let it harden , then sand and do one last coat.
Installed a video doorbell on the fence/gate today. I can both spy on the street and keep the gate locked, but still deal with deliveries / visitors.
Went to Aldi to get some beef ravioli and they were all sold out so I bought a lasagna instead and some fresh noodles for the weekend maybe.
Never tried their lasagna before so I guess I’ll find out if it’s any good.
Some school kids saw me and called out to me as I was doing my shopping. Ahh so that’s what it feels like.

I hate Mondays as well.
Tell us why?
It marks the end of sleeping in

If it’s the one from the fridge with the light blue label then it is good.
Also the garlic bread in the red packet is good too. They don’t scrimp on the garlic butter.
Hmm was from the fridge but it was a red cardboard label. Brand is World Kitchen.
Sorry. I meant the lasagne sheets. Whoops. Carry on.
Had too many tonight?
No, just tired
I’m sorry. Hope you manage to get an early night and have plenty of rest.
Nah, all cool mate. Just hanging around so I don’t crash too early otherwise I’ll be up at the crack.
DON’T STOP BELIEVIN’

Why do I need to turn the volume up to read the subtitles?
Ha! I turn the volume up for subtitles too. It helps to understand them better or something
I think I found the perfect childcare watch. The Casio gmbd300 is your regular slim G-Shock, but can connect to your phone via Bluetooth.
It’s not a smart watch, but you can do all the fiddly shit like setting the time and alarms on your phone and sync it with the watch
Nooo… Melbcat has been feeling stressed lately and licking her little tummy raw.

She’s still been getting her calming Zylkene and I’ve been neglecting the garden to avoid leaving her inside by herself. But she is overdue for her Solensia (thanks health dramas and 4 days of public holidays). Maybe she’ll come good when I sort that.
Otherwise maybe I can put her in a baby’s bodysuit (with the bottom snaps left open) as a way of protecting her skin. This however… would not help her stress.
You can buy cat t-shirts from k-mart.
I can’t see them but Kmart now sells a pet stroller 😲
Edit: Found them but they only seem to have dog ones. And they leave the lower belly uncovered
Damn. Maybe try a new born singlet.
Yeah. That’s a great idea.
I have a bodysuit but it’s a little tight and the singy would be more comfortable
More stretchy to help get on too.
I am so going to wake up one day to find she’s pooped in my shoes

this one looks great, it has velcro for easy putting on and it covers her tummy 🙂
That’s so cute. I will be murdered in my sleep but the photos would be worth it

The music part of this might interest you, it’s absolutely captivated me.
A game called Expedition 33 will release tomorrow and it’s come out to glowing reviews and its bits of soundtracks has been released by the developers.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 - Original Soundtrack - Reveal Editi
oh cool, thank you. I love soundtracks. 🙂
I’m listening to the first song linked, got headphones on and I’m just drowning in the audio experience.
The music interests us greatly also.

Reminds me of Elfen Lied’s Lilium
Sent to my symphonic metal loving friend, thanks for sharing!
I’m a symphonic metal fan though that has nothing to do how I came across these tracks.
I am considering taking a leave of absence from uni next year and getting a job so I can properly treat my AuDHD and issues with procrastination and work avoidance. Any job. I don’t want to sit at a desk for eight hours, five days a week, but if that’s what I have to do, I’ll do it. Very sick of being anxious and stressed all the time when I don’t have to be. Also going into a classroom for the next few weeks is making me really anxious to the point where I am about to have a meltdown in front of all those kids.
It sounds like a leave of absence might be a really good choice. Being so perpetually wired up and tense is no good, it doesn’t seem like one of those situations where you’ll get used to it and adapt, sounds like the path towards burnout instead…
I struggle a lot with procrastination and work avoidance myself, but after many years I’ve been able to identify what combination of factors work for me. I can say that the uni setting often doesn’t work for me. Forcing myself to get through it has been like pulling teeth. So I strongly support you finding out what works for you as well and being gentle with yourself (while trying to survive the capitalist hellscape)!
That sounds like a wise choice. A year out could give you good perspective. When do you have to decide? It could be good to set out a job position before giving notice of leave so you don’t cause yourself extra stress and you know what you are going into.
I’ve still got a couple of months to decide. Thank you for the advice! I’m not sure what I’m after just yet, but am applying to all different things, mostly pen pushing jobs.
