Not an alien baby or anything dramatic, a dental implant. It is not too bad but a bit ouchie.

    Things I dream about:

    Women

    Friends

My sick telekenetic saw blade that I use to murder this massive skeleton zombie that knows martial arts

    Cats

    Guitars

I dreamed about being outside too long and getting sunburned. Your sick telekenetic saw blade sounds much more interesting.

It’s rare I promise you. Most of my dreams are somewhat lacklustre.

For example: I just dreamed that I lost my shoes on a bus and couldn’t find them.

        Riveting lol

I got an anxiety one where something bad was going down and I couldn’t get to the ‘dial’ part of my phone to call for help. Boo. Various versions of this dream pop up when I’m stressed

One of my rental applications has been passed to the owner to look at, giving me a sudden case of FOMO. What if I accept a place and could have got something better?! I haven’t even looked at the place yet and I’m already having second thoughts. Hopefully the other place I applied for will come through for me first, it looks about 9.5/10 on my wish list instead of 7-8 ish.

I don’t know what your experience has been like up until this point, but the market as awful for renters.

Maybe go have a look. You wouldn’t want to miss out on something and end up waiting ages for another one.

I’m definitely going to have a look. I’d also rather have a certain place to live than hold out for perfection and end up homeless. But I also don’t want to just grab the first thing available and end up somewhere that I don’t feel happy.

I do have a couple of months up my sleeve, so it will probably end up being about how I feel when I see it in person. There is always that element you can’t really tell untill you are there - something to do with the way light falls and air flows and whether you can see sky when you look out the window.

Eyyyyy. Looks like I get to vote on 3 May as well! But not in the Australian elections… in the Tropical Soup ones instead - which I’m not eligible to vote for from overseas. Instead, through sheer luck, I get to vote hours before I leave! What luck.

Not like it makes a difference in a place that is a de facto one party state but hey…

But then the culture is not changed.

If revheads stop driving or smell like shit, the trend falls out of fashion. If they explode, it’s a michael bay film

Even just having road police be more active in policing exhausts and general car volume. I live near Sandown park, when there’s a race on so many hoons cut through my suburb and they just have to “rip it up” when fanging it from speedbump to speedbump in the back streets. The cops could be throwing out defect notices and fines all day long.

I got a Liberal party email in my inbox this morning. Clicked ‘modify preferences’ and noticed some of the things they’re tracking:

      👀

This is actually super interesting. Consider screenshotting it all and send a tip to the Guardian. I’m sure the Libs aren’t the only ones using these predictive analytics stuff though.

This is why political patties want your email and phone number – so they can add you to a database and enrich it with data scraped from profiling platforms, data brokers, ethnicity predictors and other commercial data sources.

      It’s spooky and feels wrong.

An annoying thing about political emails is they’re exempt from regular opt-in and spam laws so you pretty much just have to block them. Very interesting what they’re tracking here though

        So annoying.

I reported one of those Trumpets of Patriots ads and was told they were exempt from complaints because they were political no matter how awful and targeting minorities

It really made me angry how they were allowed to get away with saying such awful things and lying.

That pisses me off too. My Do Not Call and Do Not Knock are intended for everybody I don’t know or didn’t contract in some way. Unless you’re trying to tell me the house is on fire, fuck off with your exemption.

Another rental application in. Unfortunately the inspection is today & I can’t go because of a dental appointment. But it looks perfect for me in the photos, hopefully I can be considered and get a different inspection time. The place does have too many yuccas. I’m not sure if the excessive green of the lawn is photoshop or if the previous owner did some serious watering before selling to make it look nice but I’ll be surprised if it is not dead and yellow in real life. But the house layout is great, there is a sliding door I can put a dog door insert in and an area that looks like it would be perfect to put some vegies in without much effort. So fingers crossed again on tihs one.

The other one I put an application in looks like it might be ok, but there are a lot of maybes that you can’t see in the (out of date) pictures that could make it unsuitable too, so I’m not bothering with the crossed fingers for that one.

Edit to add: this is what happens when you plant one little yucca

one little yucca, what could be the harm in that?

Yeah, the trunks on those are massive and look like they are damaging the fence. Who knows what the roots are getting into. In another 10-15 years the small one that’s been put in against the house will be causing some serious damage too.

So a heads up to anyone who has a Harmony universal remote - they’ve decided that come may you can no longer update them. As in you can no longer program them at all. They’re useless.

I’m pretty sure that’s a violation of consumer law given they’re deliberately crippling a hardware device that you own…
