Valeriano Orobón Fernández, born on this day in 1901, was a Spanish anarcho-syndicalist theoretician, trade union activist, translator, and poet who wrote the lyrics of the revolutionary song “A Las Barricadas”.

Orobón believed in the organizational power of unions, believe that they would have a major role in reorganizing society in a more libertarian fashion. Orobón was also strongly opposed to the communist (i.e., Soviet) ideas in Spain during the Spanish Civil War.

Shortly before his untimely death from tuberculosis, Orobón wrote the words of “A Las Barricadas” to the tune of “Warszawianka 1905 roku”, itself a well-known Polish revolutionary song. The anti-fascist tune became the anthem of the Confederación Nacional del Trabajo (CNT), and one of the most popular songs of the Spanish anarchists during the Civil War.

Accidentally gave someone advice when r/cooking came up on my TruAnnon and Blackwolf feed as recommended. Now I’m getting it all the time. These people are fucking dipshits. Got dudes dry heating pans on max cause a recipe said to get a pan as hot as possible. So many posts about how to use really frequently used ingredients but somehow OP has a restaurant’s years supply. Like ‘what can I do with 500lbs of chicken skin?’

Well, that’s literally what the advice says to do – and if you don’t already know about cooking, what else are you going to think?

That’s the problem I have with a lot of instructional Cooking for complete bozos who really don’t know how to cook – They write the instructions as though you already know your way around the kitchen.

There really needs to be some kind of Intro to Cooking guide that assumes you actually don’t know shit and explicitly tells you what to do and how to do it.
