Maybe I look at this a little differently because I came from shitty circumstances, but could’ve just kept my head down and stay quiet and would have been “successful” in that sort of existence. So when I see people who aren’t self-aware or honest or decent people, it sort of feels a little like a personal choice to me. Circumstances are different for different people of course, but I’m no one special, and I could manage to pull myself out of that crab pot, what’s their excuse?
