I got bad news. It is personal. People don’t like you. You know the truth.

    not everyone will like you…

this was hard to accept until I understood that some people are fucking worthless human trash. the fact that they don’t like me is fine

the people with honor and integrity are the people I hope to be friends with

I mean, some people just rub other people the wrong way. Like with cats and dogs. Cultural differences, aesthetics, body language and the reflexive responses, natural aversions… they all play a role in a first impression.

Politeness is about getting past those initial impulses and giving one another an opportunity to prove they’re more than what they appear at first blush. And about dampening your own eccentricities so as not to startle or offend inadvertently. But politeness is a learned skill, while reflexive responses are innate. People make whole careers out of diplomacy and decorum. You shouldn’t feel bad if you fumble it occasionally and you should be willing to give others an opportunity to redefine themselves if they come off clumsy or inept.

See, I also agree that some people are worthless human trash, but there needs to be a healthier way for us to frame this for ourselves right?

Just like a tree produces an imperfect and sour fruit on occasion, nature sometimes births people who do not fit into the cultural tapestry of our world. Maybe the tree lacked sunlight, or the soil lacked nutrients, or maybe just unlucky genetics. Maybe the kid lacked loving parents, or grew up in a war zone, or maybe just unlucky genetics.

Either way, I don’t hate the fruit. I just try to avoid them and toss them to the side when I accidentally bite into one.

i hear you and I wish I could unexperience some of my life experiences. I’m not saying that there is a big population of humans that are worth less than others but when you have witnessed firsthand what the worst of the worst, it’s an uncomfortable truth that sometimes people can be monsters unworthy of humanity.

it’s an uncomfortable truth that sometimes people can be monsters unworthy of humanity.

fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. its a mythological story about the emergence of consciousness into humanity. came with it was the discovery of time and “the future”, then the realization of vulnerability and the need to protect oneself, then the extrapolation that “if I can be hurt in xyz ways, I can make others hurt in those same ways”. consciousness begot the potential for both great good and great evil.

people manifesting their evilness has been a problem since the very beginning. I think it helps to know that it’s not a new, modern age problem. but we should still try our best to minimize it much as we can.

my ex brother in law is one of the monsters that I think of…

years after my sister was able to escape him, he found himself about to kill his recent exlover

the new boyfriend was ready and was a better shot and thankfully the world has one less monster in it

Oh yeah, a while back Mickey7 was having a bad day and posted scat porn in autism and tech communities before he was banned. Then he made a Mickey7 account on other servers to keep going. Not sure who unbanned him or why. My app still has this account tagged.

He has several accounts. I marked them all in my app. It was probably his shitjustworks account that started all this, I don’t know, modlog is taking forever to load that far back. I think it’s because he was running a conservativememes2 community that was closed or something.

People tell me this but it just doesn’t feel good when people say/do mean things, even if they are someone that isn’t worth my time.

This is the kind of wisdom you’d expect from a drunk friend at 3 AM—messy delivery, but damn, it hits."
