The dead plant is a nice touch.
It’s plastic. Available from Ickea for 5.99 and called Schlorpobrotto.
I can’t find that, and I’m unsure why anybody would want a dead plastic plant.
There’s a place called Ickea?
I saw the same thing for less on Shamazon
$2 cheaper on fleabay. No wait $2.32 less. No wait this one is $2.51 less.
Awe fuck it I’m getting the first one.
Erm, I took your comment a bit too seriously and thought it was a typo 🤭
It’s a Guiana Chestnut. They are exceptionally easy to look after.
Because it’s dead?
Not sure I understand the question, but think you might have replied to the wrong comment.
They are exceptionally easy to look after…because they’re dead?
Oh, right, got you! They need less watering when they’re dead, that’s for sure.
How about the wall mounted zyn cans?
yeah man! the fucking dead plant sent me!
You may not like it, but this is what peak Buy It For Life looks like.
Amateur hour! The cinder blocks are all aligned and could more easily tip over; stagger those joints! The top will scratch your phone; put a piece of wood, cardboard, or an old shirt on top to protect it. Also, throw away that phone box, that shit ain’t collectable.
Maybe I’ll need that phone box in the future
I will admit that I store old phones in the original box.
Same with some old computer parts.
I used to do that.
Now I use a box cutter and cut out any bar codes or serial numbers off most of the boxes and put them in the motherboard box with the rest of manuals and accessories. It was hard at first but it’s been good.
Great for shipping RMA, you know it will fit and get there in the condition it left in.
I’ve repurposed a few of those boxes, though my most recent iPhone box couldn’t be repurposed, so that one I threw out.
Cinderblocks are literally just legos for adults. Not because it’s more mature or anything, but because it’s cheaper.
Except, you know what I discovered just LOVES to live in cinder blocks? For instance the stack I had on my balcony? Black Widow Spiders, that’s who. Whole families of them, each in a section, with egg sacs.

Single mothers too, you monster!
Think of the
larvaechildren!
Friends :3
So you had a your balcony nuked from space right?
Right?
They also destroy your toes if left in the bedroom.
Imagine building a whole building with these cursed blocks
Everyone has steel toed slippers, right?
Furniture maker here: Would a night stand with open cubbies on the front like that be popular? That would be fairly easy to build out of wood.
Dude, yes! I would 100% buy that
Honestly yeah.
The ability to have your mess slightly better organized, and cheap.
Yeah
Compared to like, drawers?
Drawers have to be opened and searched through. Cubbies are simpler to fill and find things in
I guess you can never underestimate customers too much but “drawers are too hard” is out there
Drawers tend to become a void of lost things, something with many small open shelves would keep things in a “organized chaos”.
You also make a lot of noise when you search trough drawers.
That’s what most people think when they buy big book cases. Little do they know those things are dust/junk magnets. No matter what you do little knick knacks and other random crap always find their way into them.
Well yeah. Because drawers can get filled with sand, and I don’t like sand, it’s course and rough and it gets everywhere…
It’s basically the cinder-version of an Ikea Kallax shelf, which also allows per-cubby accessories like baskets, doors, and subdividers.
Okay Deadpool.
Do you think this is an insult? Because it really isn’t.
It was supposed to be an insult?
I don’t know, that’s what in asking
I read it as a neutral “this is something Deadpool would say”
I think it refers to a scene in the first movie.
Now I don’t know what to feel!
I used to have exactly that as my nightstands, with a basket on the bottom to hide stuff and the other cubby was just open.
Everyone thinks this is a good idea until they have it and the dust builds up constantly. Drawers were invented for a reason.

Absolutely. It’s a simple design that makes it easy to find things in the dark, and provides plenty of storage space for various bits and bobs you might want easy access to before bed or in the morning (not just that, get your mind out of the gutter!). Make sure at least one of the cubbies are large enough to take an oversized hardback book, and ideally have some space under it to hide an extension cord so you can plug in your phone charger and a bedside lamp.
It’s like a bedside wine rack, 11/10.
Also, wood would not put scratches on all my possessions.
Sure, half the stuff in Ikea is empty frames which you can put drawers and doors on. Which is entirely optional, half our house is just empty frames.
I have one with top space cubby and underneath a drawer
That, but hinged in the middle so you can crack it open and access the inner cubbies
So you want the whole front half of the cabinet to swing open like a door? Thinking back to a VHS caddy my parents had, the problem there is sag.
I don’t think the actors guild cared that much about where you put your tapes.
No not the Screen Actor’s Guild, the other SAG, Slumping About Gravity. Technical carpentry term.
Where do you hide your sex toys then?
In my bum
Hide?
How many months ago do you figure he dropped that pen back there
day he put the side “table” in for sure
I think this is less “male” and more “poverty”.
You can probably find a used nightstand for free easier than finding/buying those blocks to haul to your apartment.
An iPhone and an MagSafe charger is not poverty …
First thought in a male brain seeing this: “wow, practical”.
Then i saw the text.
My first thought was : that is a stout table, not going anywhere, modular , hmm 🤔
“Modular storage system. Our proprietary ceramic material comes from natural mineral and reclaimed resources. Modern industrial aesthetic leverages influences from brutalist architecture. Available as individual components or engineered systems. Call to schedule a consultation.”
Wow great product!Where do I buy ? Should I DM you my CC info now !?
The design is a awesome, but come on don’t put it directly over the floor, put a rag or something under it.
And add some of that vinyl shelving paper for peak vibes
Just jealous because I didn’t need $40k to furnish my home.
Amazing brutalist aesthetic
It’s quite clever until you stub your toe on it at 4am.
Would it hurt anymore than a normal bedside table though?
Yes
Probably since it’s not smooth, so you’d also cut yourself
Wood might flex a bit and absorb the impact, making it hurt a bit less. Concrete won’t.
You just described furniture. And doors. And pets. And cars. And bridges. And…
Do you often stub your toe on bridges at four in the morning?
I’m telling ya, it’s a fucking minefield out there. At 4am? Doubly so.
thats a good looking house plant.
F
I scraped my knuckles just looking at that
Yeah you gotta cover those cinder blocks with a little fabric
Fabric? That sounds dainty. There’s no budget for dainty.
Once upon a time, fabric was just a cheap crafting supply.
What for?
To try and disguise how hard and sharp those corners are. Looks knee high, I predict skin loss.
Not just disguise, but actually soften. You could place your phone down on it without scratching the absolute shit out of it.
