the slop tap is back on, lets get a big open embarrassing thread going
What’s the most cringe-inducing, not discussed in irl circles shit that you actually think “No, I actually love this”?
For me, it’s the Tuvan Republic National Anthem. This shit goes incredibly hard, but loving it does make me feel like a child who blasts the soviet anthem out of a bluetooth speaker in school to be annoying.
I’ve never even played EU4, this just rocks enough to show up in my youtube suggestions.
What’s your secret shame of enjoyment?
Which faction would you run? I’m torn between the crunchy fun of NA fireteams, the sheer amount of creative nonsense the IS allows. And the sheer bullshit the courts have available. The artillery witch speaks for herself as a reason to run heretics, but the lore is kinda weak atm.
Oh Trench crusade is super promising. If I had to start I would either go with Heretics or the Iron Sultanate…kinda depends what my buddy wants to play though.
I assume the lore is gonna get stronger/deeper with time. They are churning it out at a steady rate afaik.
It’s the only modern IP that makes me
. They have such a good foundation for an authentically Catholic World War 1 experience.
I just want someone to make plastic 28mm janissaries with muskets. I’ve looked everywhere and nobody makes the Ottoman’s most famous soldiers from the Age of Sail going into WW1. They’re either armed with bows, spears, or bolt action rifles. I could convert some, but that’s going to be a huge pain in the ass sourcing muskets and likely sculpting new hands for each of them.
I don’t know how the tabletop game would play out- my only Warhammer experience is through the video games and reading about the lore- but the Iron Sultanate and Cult of the Black Grail both have such fun units.
You basically set up a model train diorama without the trains, then use a tape measurer (instead of squares like chess). Dice are rolled to see if attacks and actions are successful. This is how most tabletop wargames are played, though there are some that don’t use dice (the godfather of moderrn wargames, Kriegsspiel) or measurements (such as Crossfire by Arty Conliffe).
A lot of hex and chit wargames can have pieces replaced by models and terrain, though it’s not as common. AFAIK there are Advanced Squad Leader and Steve Jackson’s Melee communities that do this.
