Vesktop is great. However, with the Discord IPO looming (https://www.ign.com/articles/discord-is-reportedly-exploring-an-ipo) it is definitely time to abandon ship.
I’ve been wanting to abandon ship for years, but sadly convincing the average gamer is another story.
Which is the main reason most of us are stuck using it if we want to talk to friends.

Best alternative I’ve found is Signal for VoIP and parsec for game streaming
Too bad Mumble went out of fashion
I love Mumble and in my opinion the only thing it is missing is screen sharing.
call.element.io! No account needed, seems to have good FPS from a quick test.
There’s also Parsec and https://getbananas.net/ (the latter of which I haven’t tried)
I wish it had a solution for text channels and image sharing. Even if it meant paying for a server. My friends wouldn’t use it without.
You can paste images into the mumble chat and it shows for all users.
They have exploring an IPO for like 4 years now.
They’ve gotten very serious in the last month, sounds like it’s finally happening

I was going to say, it seems you’re still using Discord with this and that’s not a great thing.
I only use it online for the occasional (like maybe twice a year) time some open-source or super custom project uses it like Not From Concentrate’s SFF PC case community
