Lmao looks like the SH slot machines arent making as much bank and now you want to get a do-over of PT? Nope, fuck off Konami.

Dear reader, you and I both can already sense whatever konami cooks is going to be a poorly made cash grab slop devoid of the character designs and story depth that made the first few games good.

Sadly, You and I both also know that casuals are going to open up their wallets to pay 70$ for yet another tasting of bland slop instead of voting with their wallets or even just waiting a few days to see if its worth the cash.

Maybe so, but Its never too late. I believe in you daggermoon. You can resist the temptations if you try. Say no to impulse! Don’t buy into the hype! Screw the 128gb day one patches and months long critical bugfixes! Wait for the sale or at least the first wave of reviews and big patch.

128gb patch? This isn’t Fortnite. It’s a single player horror game. I only buy my favorites on release week, so Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and indie games of course. Also reviews for these games come out before the game releases. If it’s like 10% or something stupidly low I might hold off. If they are at least halfway descent I’m buying it. Also I waited like 5 years to finally buy Callisto Protocal on PC. The combat system still sucks lol. But they finally removed Denuvo. If SH f has some shitass DRM I won’t buy it on PC but I’ll buy a PS5 physical copy. Maybe I’ll get one used anyway. We’ll see.

Not sure how I feel about this.

I am looking forward to playing it, it looks like it has an interesting story. I like the music and the graphics seem decent but I unfortunately did see TAA ghost artifacting in the trailer. And it being in Unreal Engine means it will likely have performance issues when it launches, but hopefully they iron that out.

But it also seems like Konami just doing what they have always done with Silent Hill: trying to prioritize the Japanese market with a property that doesn’t really sell well in Japan, and completely missing the point of Silent Hill in the process.

During the transmission, Konami said that “Silent Hill lost its Japanese influence,” and my response was “Well yeah you ding-a-lings, YOU were the ones that kept contracting with Western studios to make the game without Japanese developers, OF COURSE its going to not have Japanese influence.”

Silent Hill not featuring the actual town of Silent Hill just feels wrong, since a major character is missing from the story (the town IS a character). It feels like this game is trying to be both a spin-off and a soft reboot at the same time. It almost feels like it will be the “Nightcry” version of Clock Tower, but with more polish hopefully.

I think it’s too early to judge either way. So far, I like what I’ve seen and I’m excited to play it when it comes out. Even if it’s mid af it’ll still be 1000 times better than Downpour. Remember most of SH3 takes place in Portland. The Short Message (which i’ll defend as being okay) took place in Germany. There may be a in-universe explanation for it that’s satisfying enough.

I have to massively disagree with your assessment of Short Message.

“The Silent Hill Phenomenon.” Probably the worst idea Konami has had. Worse than Book of Memories, even.
