      Nothing special is required if you’re just looking for somewhere to charge. Most third party charging apps will ask you in settings to either select your car model and/or preferred charging plugs.

      Now if this CarPlay is some trip planning feature where it automatically fills in stops based on your current range and destination, I can see that requiring some sort of special communication with the car.

      As a workaround, I’ve been telling maps to search for “DC fast” when I’m looking for a charger. It’s kludgy, but it seems to work.

        yes, that is the feature they just implemented for NACS. it was already working for other networks in Ford EVs.

        Current range would be a must to make it „EV routing“ — and I believe the data flow direction from car to iPhone is not yet fully supported for every model.
