I read through the article, am I missing something? Is my reading comprehension recently gone down hill? It doesn’t seem to reveal what horrible thing Zelensky did before the cameras started rolling, other than fail to be sufficiently thankful for a shit deal with no security guarantee.

Rubio’s contention was that what happened in the ten days leading up to today’s meeting led to a ‘predictable outcome’ and the meeting didn’t even have to happen, claiming they were only here to sign the deal for minerals.

Don’t come here and create a scenario where you’re going to start lecturing us about how diplomacy isn’t going to work. Zelensky took it in that direction and it ended in a predictable outcome as a result

I see. Thanx for that context.

For more context, before any of that happened, Trump got impeached for illegally withholding congress approved aid to Ukraine to pressure them into digging up damaging info on Biden.

Of course weak-willed republican sycophants voted to clear him of any wrongdoing but orange bastard is perhaps still mad that zelensky wouldn’t lie for him.

Fascist bootlickers are counting on us forgetting that fact but I havent forgotten.

They came out swinging in Zelenskyy’s defense earlier, so now the owners phoned the editors up and told them to come up with an excuse on why it’s Ukraine’s fault after all.

Funny how it’s one of the most popular news sites. Seems like your approach isn’t followed by many. Oh well. :)

Popular and accurate/unbiased are different things and different reasons to pay attention to something. One is to be informed the other is entertainment

My point being that your opinion doesn’t really matter that much.

There is a literal display above each comment that carries the value of an online opinion. You’re wrong.

It’s fucking Lemmy. Online opinions mean nothing in the world. The fact that you seem to place so much importance on it is laughable to me. LMAO

Instead of bullying the victim Trump should throw his weight against the aggressor, like the US under previous administrations did and like Europe does. The war would end in a split second if Russia retreated their armed forces behind their internationally accepted own borders. It’s that easy. Does Trump tell that to the Russian aggressor?

What diplomatic way? USA right now wants Ukraine minerals with no guarantee for anything. One would call that a very bad business deal if Trump as alleged “businessman” can understand.
