Wherever furries show up, they always seem to represent the most capable subsection of whatever it is they’re about - shooting, SysAdmining, fucking, etc. Some of this may be confirmation bias as I also don’t know many furries, but…

At this point you should just include a headshot of a fursuit with your resume to bag a job.

An event I went to recently had an issue with an unknown number of “orphaned radioactive sources” being left on the trade tables. Luckily, one of the furries in attendance has a gigercounter with them. They confirmed that the sources were radioactive, and did a sweep of the camp to make sure no one had taken any away. They also had the contacts to properly dispose of them.

You can therefore add nuclear energy to your list of areas with competent furries.

What the hell kind of event was this? People were just leaving radioactive shit lying around? Someone had a Geiger counter on them? WTF!

EMF Camp. Its a geeky festival. It had a trade table. Basically bring geeky ‘junk’ to donate. If you find something you like, donate what you think it is worth and take it. Money goes to charity.

The furry worked for nuclear energy. When someone recognised what the objects might be, someone let him know. He had some of his work kit with him. It was several small sources, similar to those used in schools etc. Not actually that harmful when used properly, and not broken. They put out just enough for it to be worth a sweep to check for more out on the camp. Thankfully no one seemed to have taken any.

In the culprit’s defence. It wasn’t on the prohibited item list, though that was soon corrected.

                “that was soon corrected”

I get the feeling the sign may have been from later in the event, or a later iteration of the event.

Would a range allow costumes that big? I feel like showing up with a paper Halloween mask would get you kicked out.
