Being in the SCP community, I’ve written my fair share of articles. My first one written when I was way younger and didn’t know there were more SCPs than 173, 096, 682, and 049 a pretty poorly written SCP about a Venus flytrap that photosynthesizes electric energy and releases EMP waves. I rewrote it to better standards when I was old enough to have any sense of writing standards, but I never did anything with it. Or any of the other SCPs I’ve written. Mainly sharing between friends and writing for fun but never seriously posting one. (Other than that one, which I had up for about 10 minutes before I realized the formatting was way off), but I’d like to know, does anyone else write SCPs but never post them on the official site or elsewhere?
Every time I have come up with an idea for an SCP, I check the wiki and see that it already fuckin’ exists. 😬
It can feel like all the ideas are taken with there being almost 8000 SCPs on the site but there’s plenty of ideas still out there!
Hey you know what… Maybe there always being an SCP of everything is, itself, an SCP… 🤔
This genuinely sounds like you have encountered the [redacted] entity. No one has been able to assign it an SCP number, it seems it’s only purpose is to protect other entities from being listed in the SCP database. Indications you have encountered the [redacted] entity are likely to take the form of multiple SCP reports not being filed, or updated to meet foundation standards.
I’ll have to keep a eye out for The Slot Goblin it maybe involved as well
