    • Brush: Summer Break Steinauer W/ BOTI 26mm Sweet Grape
    • Razor: Blackland Blackbird
    • Blade: Perma-Sharp [3]
    • Lather: Catie’s Bubbles - Barnegat Bay Original Italian Style - Soap
    • Post Shave: Catie’s Bubbles - Barnegat Bay - Aftershave

Day 14 of Atlas Shaves and the CB streak lives on another day. Todays theme soap is CB Pomander, I do not have it but I have Barnegat Bay in the Original Italian style. I had it in a mug but transferred it to an empty tub for easier loading and storage. It’s 10 years old and it’s still amazing. 47th Bubbles shave in a row.

Day 14 of Atlas Shaves 2 – Electric Boogaloo Fri 14 Feb 2025

    • Brush: Simpson Chubby 2 Manchurian
    • Razor: Thiers Issard Le Dandy (5/8", square point, carbon steel)
    • Lather: Catie’s Bubbles – Purple Grapefruit
    • Post Shave: Chatillon Lux – Pure Lavender
    • Fragrance: House of Mammoth – Tobacconist

Halftime! The field of contenders has melted down to the fellowship of the bling, I survived the first half of the month, but (rightfully) lost my safety belt in the citrus wars of 2025, so there’s no more room for errors or bad luck, especially with the juggernauts u/Crossan1983 and @sahenders@sub.wetshaving.social taking the hits in stride.

Today’s soap is practically antediluvian Pomander by CB, so the best I can do today is matching the artisan for 4 points.

14.02.2025 • Brush: TGS Galaxy 26 mm • Razor: RazoRock Cyber Medium w/ RR Superknurl handle • Blade: Rapira Platinum Lux • Lather: HAGS - Aftermath (old vegan base) • Post-Shave: Moon Soaps - Old School “balm”
-> 1 pass head shave. The blade is slightly tugging, I suppose it’s at the end of its cycle.

This was just a quick shave after beard trimming. I’m tired AF from the early shifts, but still wanted a nice clean shave. Well, this isn’t a very close shave but it’ll do… Still have two early shifts on the weekend. Unfortunately I also deal with lots of reflux and nausea atm, but my decision to go cold turkey on nicotine during work wasn’t that good: it added the most awful headache and the shittiest mood swings ever on top. Gotta love withdrawal symptoms 🥴

At least the soap and brush worked together nicely and despite some slight tugging of the blade, everything went alright. This old vegan HAGS isn’t the slickest soap, but I really like this dupe of Interlude Man too much.

I hope you feel better soon.

Nicotine withdrawal is awful, but luckily fairly short-lived (as long as you don’t ingest more nicotine;)).

If you’re open to a recommendation, The Easy Way to Stop Smoking by Allen Carr was very helpful to me when I quit smoking. It does a great job reframing nicotine addiction.

Obviously take it or leave it, just felt like it might be worth mentioning.

I feel like the people around me at work would be even shorter-lived if I quit again 😂

No, in all seriousness: I have no desire to quit/stop vaping. Switching to that from cigs was a huge jump in life quality without sacrificing the tastes I enjoy (tobacco, menthol) so I see no reason. However, your recommendation is very good for anyone really set on quitting. 👍🏻

    • Brush: Ever-Ready 400 w/30mm Motherload
    • Razor: Gillette Tech (Z-4)

    • Lather: Meissner Tremonia - Woody Almond - Soap
    • Post Shave: Australian Private Reserve - Raconteur - Aftershave

Great lather from this soap today. It’s just one of those soaps that you need to load relatively dry, else it’ll puff up on you.

    Friday, February 14, 2025: Atlas Shaves 2 - Day 14

    • Brush: Summer Break Soaps “Elyria” - TurnNShave v9 28mm badger
    • Razor: Chiseled Face - Titanium Legacy Razor
    • Blade: Bolzano - Superinox (6)
    • Lather: Catie’s Bubbles - DFTR
    • Post Shave: Catie’s Bubbles - DFTR Aftershave splash
    • Post Shave: Ginger’s Garden - Unscented Aftershave balm (+ menthol)
    • Fragrance: Stirling - Ramblin’ Man EdT

A Bubble day is always a treat. I feel like every time I shave with DFTR I pick up on different scents. Today was mostly musk and wood (maybe cedar?). Just lovely.

Now off for a Valentine’s Day drink with my wife.

+4 points for soap from the same artisan
    +1 point for cross-posting
    +1 point for engaging yesterday

    Total points (65 previous + 6): 71
