I made a new community for art in the style of the old roast subs and was wondering. It tends to make people feel better about what they’ve made to hear about what others have.

There’s one that comes to mind, for a few reasons.

This was at the tail end of when I was collaborating with my mom on all my art projects, which was almost a decade ago now. The idea was “would Ponyo still be obsessed with ham if she became Jewish?”

First off, if this is the peak of your sense of humor, may the heavens have mercy on you. Have a little less shock value, lol.

Second, the drawing process was odd. She was originally going to be dressed from head to toe in one of the traditional outfits, but a part of us questioned both whether she’d be recognizable without her iconic colors and whether it would have been taking it too visually far, as well as being stereotypical (it’s a darn good thing this was the first thing of mine ever discarded). So half-way through that, she had her clothes recolored back to normal, which is why it looks like she’s fulfilling the dress code half-way. The colors and style of the picture, though they would still slightly resemble the kind of art later associated with me (of note, mine and my mom’s art style do resemble each others’, though I have fleshed mine out more), look a lot simpler in terms of how to add contrasting details, like it was Kirby’s Epic Yarn crossed with Dr. Seuss (my art has been compared to both).

Third, an opportunity was missed to do the steamed hams meme.

Yeah, uhm, early me is questionable as a role model.

There are other honorable, or dishonorable, mentions for my worst art as well, namely my Marcus Aurelius drawing…

…a certain early self-portrait (if you knew its history, you’d know why)…

…and this random Oshawott made in the style of snoo.

    Everything I’ve made 🤣

All jokes aside I can’t think of anything actually good that would make anything else I made considered bad

I’ve spent a significant portion of my life doodling, so my worst was probably in a history notebook.

During a high school English class, we had a section on fairytales and their origins in old European folklore (think stories that inspired The Witcher, the gorier version of Cinderella, etc.)

One of the assignments was to write our own short fairytales, but apparently I was the only person that got a memo that these should have a darker style and tone as well… I don’t remember the whole of what I wrote, only that it involved trying to kill a witch, if you failed you died, and the winning method was using a pencil (this was 3-4 years before John Wick).

After I read it to the entire class… well if there wasn’t a whispered “WTF” to break the silence, there should’ve been.

    I think I got a B minus.

I’ve written bad music, lots of it. Not bad in an interesting way. Just uninteresting and bland. The worst kind of insult one could think of when their art is being evaluated kind of thing. Like the kind of music you’d hear in a bad low budget commercial, once weird millennials get old enough for them to co opt shoegaze for pharmaceutical commercials

I’m sure that it would have been something that I didn’t consider saving because it wasn’t worthwhile and have long-since forgotten about.
