Journey.
Wanted to play halo but I had uninstalled it to make space so I played prodeus instead. Close enough
I embarked on a mission to play as many of the Sonic games as my aging laptop will handle last year some time. So far, the only Classic era games I either haven’t started or 100%ed are the odd ones out, like Sonic Eraser, the SegaSonic games and Tails’ Skypatrol. Not sure I’m even gonna bother with Sonic Eraser because it’s actually just a shitty little match 3 game that obviously used Sonic for marketing.
As far as the Modern era goes, I haven’t got too far in yet because I’ve been pretty hooked on Sonic Adventure. Going to be doing my 3rd run of Sonic Adventure soon, this time with the Japanese voice tracks and the retranslated subtitles mod. I got to the Biolizard in SA2, took a break and haven’t returned to it yet. Honestly a little disappointed with SA2 because I was hoping for more of what we got in SA1 but better, like a hub world to run around in that actually has more to do than just go from point A to point B, like side missions and shit. And I’ve started Sonic Heroes, which is honestly pretty fun so far.
And the game that I fired up as recently as today was Sonic Advance, where I’ve completed Sonic’s basic run but haven’t collected all the Chaos Emeralds yet. And I’ve just started an Amy Rose run.
I go through obsessions. My previous mission was to watch every DC Comics adaptation, which has now faded into the background and provides me with something to watch when I can’t find anything else. Just because there’s so damn much of it. And I can see my Sonic the Hedgehog run going the same way because I can already feel that I’m starting to burn myself out with it.
The next non-Sonic game that I’ll probably get into soon is an indie game called Unsighted that’s been on my to play list for a while now. RPGs are usually my jam but it’s been nice having a break from the lists and endless pinned wiki tabs that usually go along with them.
Just finished Persona 3 FES. Planning on sitting in the dark with a stiff drink thinking about it for a while, then probably jump into Persona 4 Golden.
Football Manager has taken hold of me…
So far I’ve promoted from 6th to 5th tier, stayed mid-low table for another season and now I’m aiming for a top 10.
Also finally have some decent youth players to work with. I really need to improve the first team too as almost everyone underperformed last season.
I don’t even consider myself a huge fan of the sport but I love the management part of it.
send helpWe’re opening !Football@lemm.ee soon if you like to follow the game news too
Mainly Celeste, Darksiders Genesis co-op, and Eiyuden Chronicle Rising. Celeste and Eiyuden are great, Darksiders is fine, it feels a bit generic. I was way too scared of Celeste, it‘s not as hard as I feared it would be without assist mode.
Still trudging around Daggerfall. I did touch the story briefly but since my character is mostly non-combat oriented I don’t even have access to the quests needed to progress anywhere (not that I mind).
I also started playing original Sims again. I expected to have a lot more problems getting used to the lack of quality of life changes and features present in the later titles but it’s not too bad so far. I guess I really did take the “just immerse yourself in the world” approach to heart recently.
The only slightly annoying things is the fact I couldn’t get the widescreen patch to work but whatever, it’s not the first game I’ll play in 4:3 aspect ratio.Found my old GBA that I thought I’d gotten rid of because the battery was borked. Turns out the battery still works, it’s the charging light that’s borked. My 6yo saw me rocking Tetris and I let him take a crack at it. He played for two hours straight.
Yeah, Tetris still got it. The DX version was my most played game on the Steam Deck for a few months, despite hundreds of other games waiting the backlog. Kid made a great choice.
We were playing on the GBA SP, but the cart was the GameBoy original that came with my (definitely dead but I still have it) grey brick GameBoy.
I sold all my GB/A carts except that and FFTA.
Good old backwards compatibility. The only GBA cart I ever bought was due to my original NDS, still have it in fact.
Where these two your favorites? Those, the GBA port of Zelda ][, and Mario Land 2, but I hadn’t had the cart for ML2 in over a decade by the time I was selling the rest.
Bought Borderlands enhanced version cheap and felt like shooting stuff.
There’s a bug that annoys me where selecting a mission from the journal places a custom waypoint on the map.
Made a SHi(F)T account to get them online golden keys for better weapons.
But it’s still fun. For now. Not sure whether I’ll make it till the end.
Oh right. Playing the Siren because Phasewalk lets you walk faster. Though i might have picked Soldier due to the turret shooting stuff on its own whenever I’d get tired.
Borderlands 1 was great. Phasewalk is easily the best skill.
I bought Sonic Adventure 2 Battle cause I watched Sonic 3 this weekend and it was fucking awesome.
This is the first 3D Sonic game I’ve really played, and I’m having a fun time so far. I’m actually really liking the Chao Garden too.
I’ve mostly thought about playing Balatro, but haven’t gotten around to it as I’ve only watched numbers go big in Untitled Space Idle (idler/clicker/absolute-timewaster).
It’s been a slow gaming week for me. :D
edit: maybe I should actually elaborate a bit on the idle-game.
Essentially: you have space ship, space ship must fight other space ships, which get tougher and tougher the further you go. As you go, you research, build, etc. more things to your ship to make it sturdier, deadlier, and faster, then reset and do it again, but BETTER. Rince and repeat, the usual idle-game loop.
There’s so many different ways to make the ship better - but you’re gonna need them all anyway, having multiple systems you can/need to level up, but usually can’t do so in one go is just a time sink.
It’s a simple game but if you identify as “scandisk/defrag watcher”, it’s for you.
if you identify as “scandisk/defrag watcher”, it’s for you
I am who you describe, and this made me realise that a progression/idle game based around a disk defragging mechanic would be amazing, and would scratch a deep itch for many people.
@cod@lemmy.world, I took the freedom as the previous post is 8 days old, I hope you don’t mind
No problem. I was going to post tonight anyway, I’m playing around with days to see what gets the most engagement. I don’t think any one day is better than another by the looks of it though so I might just stick to Wednesdays
Wednesdays sound good!
