Jon Stewart could pierce the veil, I hope some day genuine good people see themselves as worthy of the power they could wield. If not them, then clearly a thousand ghouls are waiting in the ramparts.
I sure hope so. For a while after Trevor left, The Daily Show was really floundering for a bit, giving nearly everyone a run at the desk, even if they were abrasive and not even remotely funny, as long as they ticked some diversity box. I was on the verge of giving up watching until they changed that up a bit and then brought Jon back.
First rule of thumb in trying to win people over might be not being annoying AF. I think Air America made this mistake to a large degree…
