In not defending the cop in any way, just attacking the author. This is a really garbage article. First it claims cops kill 30 dogs a day, then it walks that back and says maybe not but it’s a believable number. Yes, it is, but you’re the fucking journalist writing the article! Get the facts, don’t just spout some bullshit and then be like “but idk maybe not, go check.”

    Second:

If the deputy felt his employer would have his back, he never would have turned himself in.

There was a warrant for his arrest. What exactly was he supposed to do, go on the run? Force them to arrest him at dinner in front of his family? If a person is innocent, the best thing they can do is turn themselves in and have their day in court—or go on the run and look for evidence it was actually a one-armed man.

If the Sheriff’s Office thought Deputy Brackin was worth keeping on staff, it would have acted on his behalf.

Again, this was a warrant issued by a judge. Whatever the office is going to do to protect their man, it’s not going to be an armed standoff with TBI agents.

Again I’m not defending the cop. But I feel like after reading this article, I don’t have any more information about what happened than I did before I read it—and this is the first I’ve even heard about it.

Never should have been a human sounds more accurate.
