      Looks like you need to attend another semester of the School for the Mechanically Declined … I seem to have failed too because I’ve never seen a slotted screw like that either.

        I’ve seen them before. But the slot is usually as wide as it is long and you use a square bit for it instead of a flathead

      Flat Head screws had their raison d’être 100 years age, because they were easy to manufacture. Nowadays though there are no excuses for using them anymore.
