On the 24th of october in 1975, approximately 90% of Icelandic women struck for equality, not attending jobs or doing any domestic work. Iceland passed an equal pay law the following year, but the strike has been repeated on its anniversary several times since, such as in the years 2005, 2010, and 2016.

The strike was planned by “The Women’s Congress”, which had met on June 20th and 21st earlier that year. Among the reasons given for going on strike were pay inequality, lack of women in union leadership, and a general lack of recognition for the value and skill of domestic labor.

During the work stoppage, also known as “Women’s Day Off”, 25,000 people gathered in Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital city, for a rally. There, women listened to speakers, sang, and talked to each other about what could be done to achieve gender equality in Iceland.

Women from many different backgrounds spoke, including a housewife, two members of parliament, and a worker. The last speech of the day was by Aðalheiður Bjarnfreðsdóttir, who “represented Sókn, the trade union for the lowest paid women in Iceland”, according to The Guardian.

In 1976, the Icelandic government passed an equal pay law, and the country elected its first female President, Vigdís Finnbogadóttir, five years later in 1980.

The 1975 Women’s Strike also helped inspire the 2016 “Black Monday” anti-abortion ban protests in Poland, as well as the “International Women’s Strike”, single day work stoppages on March 8th, 2017 and 2018.

Facebook leftist page is encouraging people to commit perjury if they get jury duty so they can be on a jury and do a nullification. This is a fantastic way to be held in contempt of court in the most consequential way possible, that’s gonna cause a mistrial, they’ll get a new jury and you’ll be in a stupid amount of trouble, you personally pissed off and lied to the judge who now controls your fate. If by some weird chance you end out on a jury, nullify, but don’t lie in the selection process to do so. It won’t do anything but delay and you’ll go down fucking hard for it.

    Most meaningless annoyance ever

    tech garbage

So new intel processors came out (which you shouldn’t buy, cause intel should be bankrupt obaida-index ). Anyway, like I’ve read techpowerup review, seems real fucking solid processor for productivity. And then I see invidious thumbnails of reviewer perverts shitting on it, cause it’s doesn’t give +2 fps in most unrealistic game scenarios imaginable, (and it cost a lot, which true). meow-tableflip anandtech, bby, why do you have to sell out and die.

Ps the reason it’s meaningless, is unless you play with 4090, you won’t cap out fps, I set the graphic settings to hit 60 fps, the only meaningful processor influence I (and think like 90 percent of people) can see is in civ turns/stellaris/total war sim speed, the rest is just investigation of meaningless numbers. And even there, solid quarter of the games are just flat capped by engine, what are you even comparing there mate?

Saw someone online complain about a food spot and they said that the fries were “dry af,” which is such a weird complaint to me. Wouldn’t you want your fries to be crispy and not soggy? Also the dryness of the fries is entirely up to you, you can just dip them in ketchup or something.
