Are the cigars a Smoky/Great Smoky Mountains thing? If so, I get it, but there is nothing quite so eye-rollingly bougie as 20-year-olds lighting up a stogie in a golf-shirt. 🤣

GG, Vols. Y’all are uglying your way to a good year.

        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third_Saturday_in_October#Victory_cigars

In the 1950s, Jim Goostree, the head athletic trainer for Alabama, began another tradition as he began handing out cigars following a victory over the Volunteers.[10] Both teams continued the tradition for some time, though kept it secret due to NCAA rules concerning extra benefits and tobacco products. Alabama publicly restarted the tradition in 2005, though as a result, self-reported an NCAA violation.[11] Every year since 2007, the winner of the Alabama–Tennessee game knowingly violates the NCAA rule and reports the violation in honor of tradition.[12]

Edit: lmao they’ve already updated the 2024 results

Ahh, there we go. I should have known that an eye-rollingly bougie CFB tradition would have started at Bama. 🤣

Not sure I disagree with Bama having gone for this. You need a three and out either way, it’s just that you’re likely down 7 instead of 4 if you pull it off. OT/2pt is arguably a small price to pay for one more play where you control your destiny.

Bama’s defense is the softer of the two and tends to give up yards and points. I don’t know why Vol’s O just hasn’t gotten untracked here.

Agreed. Close to the end of the game so it has some influence, but there is still enough time on the clock that Alabama still gets another drive as we are seeing now

Milroe’s design runs just don’t work. I don’t know why they keep running it. It’s always telegraphed.
